Weekend Recap

What a world-wind event to say the least! From eating at a restaurant on Friday night and being asked by a waitress to switch tables mid-through our dinner then running 9 miles in HEAT, let's just say that wasn't my finest run because of the heat. The onto the wedding, a beautiful venue, which I will have plenty of photos for your viewing pleasure. The bride was very beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the food was delicious. I will leave you with this, you may have heard that character is what you are when no one is around or watching, however I think true character is best displayed when faced with an extremely stressful situation when there are over 100 people watching.

The Bible talks about character too in Romans 5:3-5.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

My friend, the bride yesterday, has such class and character. Out of respect, I won't display the details, however I strongly ask you not to think negatively, they are married, they are a wonderful couple, his health took a serious turn so please send prayers for a quick recovery.
I will talk tomorrow about the Color Run, but I wanted to leave you with some photos of the beautiful venue. There was a bison, longhorn cattle and two beautiful horses on the property.

The venue is just gorgeous, along with the weather! Why would a waitress have you move in the middle of your dinner?!

I agree with you. There's no greater testament to the strength of our character and our love for each other than grace under pressure (especially when something serious like this happens on your wedding day). Praying for them both.

I want to know more about the waitress asking you to change tables! What's up with THAT?

Why did a waitress make you change tables?! That is so weird! The venue does look so beautiful! I told myself the same thing on our wedding day--regardless of what happens at the wedding, the whole goal of this is to be married. :)

That picture of the bison makes me a wee bit jealous...I simply love buffalo and bison and haven't been able to get that close to a big, though been on the lookout! LOL! The wedding looked beautiful, and I'm sending my best to your friend's husband...hope everything is okay! Enjoy your week! :)

Wow, what a beautiful setting for a wedding! I love your ideas on character and couldn't agree more. I read this recently and love this example as well: "Character is how you treat people who can do nothing for you." So true as well! Congrats to your friends - wishing them a lifetime of love, happiness & joy!
