The Bachelorette Finale

Normally on Monday, I have been having a Hostess with the Mostess series, well that will be posted tomorrow since the finale of the Bachelorette aired last night.

Curacao is a great place to visit and a picture perfect spot for the finale of this season's Bachelorette. Sean and I visited Curacao last summer, almost a year ago exactly. It is a lovely island. 

The time has come for Emily to pick one of the two remaining guys. I don't have predictions, I don't have any guesses and I certainly didn't head over to Reality Steve to cheat to get the big engagement or lack of news. 

Of course the meeting between Jef and Emily's family went fine, blessing given, all the questions received the right answers. I did like that purple ombre dress she wore for that meeting and the outfit she wore when the episode was first show, the chambray and the pink maxi skirt, very cute!

Arie's meeting with the family started off with less brownie points for me because he didn't bring any flowers unlike Jef did except for that box. Really Arie, a box? Wrong move Arie! Was the meeting not just the most awkward time and it just made you cringe?  I think Emily's brother's comments about Arie being skilled is very spot on, he just isn't real or genuine to me.  

Was anyone else a little grossed by Emily and Arie kissing? 

I think it was important that both Jef and Arie meet Ricki, because Emily said if they didn't get along with her, then their relationship would stop right then and there. So if Emily was willing to accept a proposal without having either guy meet her daughter, does that make sense?

The day date with Jef, I loved her neon yellow skirt with the chambray top.

If you want the skirt, it is by Planet Blue and is the Two Slits Skirt for $108 although they only sell it in blue. The evening portion of the date was super, that book was a sweet gesture and moving on.

The big talk with Chris... Ok, Emily was loosing me a bit and finally I caught up to her and the thoughts that were coming out of her mouth. I was yelling at the TV at this point telling Emily that she should have gotten rid of Arie last week and kept Sean on for this week. The telling Arie before the final date is very similar to Ali's season, where she said good-bye to Chris once she realized that she loved Roberto and she didn't go on the final date with Chris. 

Arie makes a love potion and yet he has no clue that it won't work for him and Emily.. poor Arie and plus he is so confident he is getting engaged tomorrow, oh Arie you have no idea what is coming. Plus the awkward obligatory must sit on the bench and look passive and pensive while waiting for Emily.

And then the break-up, it happened, he was pissed, she was sad and time to move on. 

Oh Neil Lane, lucky you you only have to meet with one suitor, not two. Less money that ABC has to shell out if they do that, one ring is definitely less expensive than two.

And yes he proposes and she accepts after a majorly long dramatic pause and thank you ABC for picking the cheesiest song ever to play for the recap of their relationship.
There you have it folks, the entire season of the Bachelorette recapped on my blog. Will I do it again? No. Was it fun? Sorta.
So we will wait and see how long their relationship plays out, I hope for a long time but as we all know these relationships rarely make it to an actual wedding.

P.S. Some commentary provided by two husbands on last night's episode, first Jef looks like he is 12 and also he is a douche straight up.

Oh my weekend it was awesome. Hung out in Temecula with these beautiful ladies, Kasey, Jamie and Katie. My heart was so full, happy and blessed after hanging out with them all afternoon. And Kasey and I found out that our husbands are in the same Masters program!

Bachelorette Tuesday #9

Episode number 9 of Emily's season as the bachelorette! First off, I am really excited that they are filming in a location I have been too so far there has been Prague and now Curacao. Last summer, Sean, his family and I visited the island last summer on a cruise. Curacao was absolutely gorgeous and yes if you were wondering Curacao is the island that makes the blue liquer, blue curacao. However, they also make many other colors and flavors as well, but I am digressing. Also the brightly painted buildings they are all over and are so unique to the island.

So we are down to the final three, Jef, Sean and Arie. 

Ok Emily you are saying that Sean will always be there for you no matter what, you need to listen to yourself. I feel you should want in a guy someone who will always be there for you no matter what. 

That is so important in a marriage knowing that your partner will be there for you no matter what and that is my almost two years of marriage experience talking. Anyone married longer than me out there that want to second that advice?

Ahh, Jef with one f, you were in the friends zone for awhile there in the beginning but you picked up speed  ending last week with that sweet note.

Then Arie, you are the wildcard in my opinion, you two go hot and then cold and then hot again...

Sean's date:

I want to go on my own private island and hang out there all day, I mean how gorgeous would that be.

And Sean no you didn't forget what you were going to say, you were trying to say to her, I love you, idiot! Did anyone else want to shake him through the TV and tell him, just say it already?

Finally, he said it! I think both of them had a ton of class to walk away from each other in the evening and Sean was so sweet saying he didn't need to spend those few extra hours to be sure. 

Jef's date:

They are so cute together for sure! I don't have too much else to say about the date except wasn't Emily's dress amazing. At the bottom of this re-cap, I will share a few of my favorite fashion item from the show. Jef shows so much respect to Emily by not spending the night with her and recognizing her role as a mom, good move Jef,

Arie's date:

I loved Emily' cover-up but unfortunately where you can purchase the cover-up is still being discovered. Swimming with dolphins is such a cute, fun date. I would love the opportunity to swim with dolphins. 

Emily looks really good with just straight hair, doesn't she? Why hasn't she worn her hair like that before? Very pretty and I liked her wooden beads necklace she was wearing during dinner. Oh poor Arie no fantasy date option...

Rose ceremony:
The dreaded fake hair clip-on makes another appearance, oh my. Emily showed absolutely no emotion when watching the videos, I first thought that maybe it was because it was Sean in the video and it was because she was sending him home but then during Jef and Arie's video, she was stoic, completely stone face. Jef gets the first rose.. and then Arie. What?? What happened to Sean? Ugh! My heart is just breaking into a million pieces... my favorite one axed last night. Emily, oh Emily what a bad decision.
Ugh my heart is breaking for Sean...

Going clock-wise, the blue dress is from LNA for $143, the white maxi is from Nordstroms, the beaded dress is from AllSaints for $346 and the studs are from Towne and Reese for $25.

Bacholerette Episode #8

Before we discuss the hometown dates and last night's episode, I saw this last week on Heidi's blog and can't stop laughing for some reason. I had to share this with you all.

Chris's hometown:
All I can is I am ready for Chris to go home already, is anyone else with me? Ok I have a confession, I didn't start watching last night's episode until Jef's hometown because Sean and I were at Home Depot buying supplies to make the game, ladder ball. But I was down with Chris last week so I wasn't too disappointed I missed his hometown.

Jef's hometown:
 It is interesting to see the reversal of when the guys plan the hometown date and shooting that was cute. Sean commented on their picture perfect hay bench and background saying, it is too perfect.
I thought Emily would fit in perfectly with Jef's siblings, his sisters were really sweet.

Arie's hometown:
Hm.. Arie picking Indy car, risking choice there dude. It was cute Emily was really dressed up during their picnic and Arie was wearing his white t-shirt and jeans. I thought Arie you weren't calming Emily down at all about meeting your mother, you were actually making me nervous to meet her, although that would never happen. That I love you so they will love you line was really smooth Arie. Emily you better learn Dutch real fast if you are to marry Arie.

Sean's hometown:
My outfit by far out of the four hometowns was Sean's, that dress of hers was absolutely gorgeous and I love it and want it. How many picnics can a girl go on before she gets tired of them do you think? I think Emily's daughter would love to play in Sean's backyard and would have instant cousins. That was a cruel joke to play on Emily, I was gonna say the perfection curtain has fallen down but nope, it was a joke! Sean's daddy was so sweet, and I love how he said there is something magical going on here. Why is Sean always running? Running to get another kiss?

Rose ceremony:
Always so dramatic of course and like I said in Chris's hometown date, it was time. Chris the odds are not in your favor because only one guy will be left standing, and you had a 25% chance but sorry that quarter just didn't have your name on it. Chris, I know it is hard but if Emily made you a believer in love, you will find another girl who will make you a believer again.

Why Emily is a girl after my own heart, because she goes to Prague and because she goes to Curacao, both places I absolutely loved when I visited.

Bachelorette Tuesday #7

Trip re-cap coming this week, seriously, thanks for being patient with me. 

As you know, I skipped two weeks of the bachelorette here on the blog. I watched them when I returned from my vacation so I am all caught up on the who left, who said what. I want to mention that when I was watching the show and there was a knock on the door in the episode, Kip and Kimbia would bark like crazy because my dogs thought someone was at our front door. I simply had to remind Kip and Kimbia that I had given my final rose to Sean Henning and then they settled down :-) Ok side story over,  back to the Bachelorette. Kalon, you are an idiot and Emily I'm sorry but it didn't need to take a couple weeks to find out his true colors, which are rotten and spoiled. And Ryan thank goodness you and your turquoise shoes were sent walking, I was getting sick of you. However, Emily giving both a rose to Wolfman and Dougman, hm... I needed to watch your episode tonight to find out why you wanted them to stick around for a bit longer.

Anyways so I am really happy to see them visiting Prague. I visited Prague in 2005 when I was studying abroad, my Italian roommate had a friend who was studying medicine there so we took a weekend trip up there. It was an absolutely beautiful city! The architecture, the history, just the sights and sounds it was just breath-taking. I hope to take Sean there one day. 

Just a bit of fashion first.  I am still swooning over the Frye boots Emily is wearing throughout the season, I love the sparkly jacket she wore on the group date and I like the beaded top she wore under the pink leather jacket. 

Let's chat about the episode. 

I love the grey leather jacket she was wearing in the opening season. My favorite outfit of the entire season even though I haven't seen the rest of the season is the outfit Emily wore on her date with Arie. I love the Frye boots, the beaded shorts and the white blazer, love it, this outfit just screams me. 

If I were Emily and I knew what she knew about Arie, I couldn't act natural on a date, I would talk about it right then right now. 

The infamous interview of Emily asked interviewed by the producer who dated Arie... ahh ABC's attempt to create some type of non-drama drama. After what was suppose to a jaw-dropping shocking interview, we move on back to Emily and Arie on their date and then back to Chris then back to the evening part of the date and clearly everything has smoothed over and as Emily said it was all a "mis-understanding." Does Emily know about Arie's small rap sheet? 

Why is ABC's little surprise always a fireworks show? And Arie I'm not loving you for her, just not, sorry all if you hope they end up together, I'm just not digging it. 

Now we get to witness why Emily kept around Wolfman because we have never really seen them interact a lot. Did you hear that Wolfman, kick it into high gear!

All in all their date was a bit boring and then he returns to the other man and Chris who is majorly disappointed he will be on yet another group date. Then my main man, Sean, runs off into the night shouting Emily, Emily in the hopes that she will hear him, throw open her window and say, "here I am Sean!"In my opinion, all of the men can go home right now and Sean can propose to her end of the season. 

Chris, shake off that negative attitude, it is dreary just like the weather during your date. Emily's pink coat should surely cheer you up! Maybe Doug leaving in the middle of the group date will cheer you up a bit since there is one less guy you will have to compete against for a one on one date except then you have to be on the awkward two on one date, which do you prefer? Chris, rather than talk about your disappointment why don't you kiss her and make you feel all better? Although I'm sorry your heart got crushed again that Sean got the rose and now you are just sounding really bitter rather than happy because you are on national TV. 

Jef with one "f" is really growing on me, he is super sweet and they seem to have a lot of fun together. Hm.. Jef or Sean, Sean or Jef? The only guy Emily is really quizzing about the home town date as though she will definitely be visiting their hometown is Jef. For such a slow going, Jef is really picking up the pace on this solo date, would we move in together, when would we have kids? 

The rose ceremony: No cocktail hour, this is Chris's worst nightmare and he is stressing big time, beads of sweat dripping down his forehead.

I love that blue dress she wore for the rose ceremony, what a gorgeous color it is on her. 

Of course no questions Jef gets a rose, Arie and then Chris. I guess the moral of the story is interrupt rose ceremonies and influence her decision as she is about to hand out the final rose. 

So why did Emily give a rose to Dougman and Wolfman last week if she eliminated both of them this week?

Bachelorette Tuesday #4

Here we go back for another edition of Bachelorette Tuesday to see what Emily is wearing on the show and see what guys may or may not be trying to wooing her.

Ok let's start with I don't love all the fashions that Emily is wearing (again thank you Possessionista for your awesome hunting skills).

Case in point this Karen Kane sweater from Bloomingdales. You can purchase it at either store but right now online at Karen Kane, it is $64 but at Bloomingdales it is $82.60

Not loving it, kinda looks grandma-ish (sorry Grandma, I love you!)

 I could really go for that blue zip-up sweatshirt she is wearing too found at Nordstroms for a cheap penny of $98.

Back to last week's episode, she was wearing those awesome Frye Carson Lug Riding boots on her date with  Arie. they will only cost you $398.

Episode time!!
Doug getting the first one on one date, was someone getting really nervous that maybe something about him would be revealed? Anyways, I think it was a nice day date, checking out a cute town and the sights is something I would totally do. The dinner, I think Emily is grilling him and he is still hiding whatever he is. Him and Ryan both are playing that perfection role, take it down a notch boys, take it down a notch. Sorry, Emily, not everyone guy in the house likes Doug, I can name Arie and Chris. Doug is really annoying me this episode because he displays this appearance of perfection, and that whole not kissing a girl in a long time, get over yourself!
Ok then the announcement of the group date, who in the world is Nate and where has he been?

I was disappointed that the red team lost the yacht race, and mainly I am upset because it meant that Sean didn't get to spent some time with her. Additionally, I am absolutely in love with that purple sweater she wore on the evening dates with the winning yellow yacht team. And Jef getting the rose again? How? What did he do to deserve it? Just like last week (or was it the week before?)
Oh Sean and if you gave your right leg to pop champagne with then it would be hard to play Div. 1 football, just an FYI ;-)

Ok the two on one date, the most awkward type of date you could ever plan. Nate, you want her to see your outgoing side of you, we don't even know who you are.  I am in love with the bikini Emily wore when jumping off cliffs, need to know where that bikini is from. However, I would not wear a bikini when jumping off cliffs, there is too much potential for the top to come up, it has happened to me on many occasions. John aka Wolf looks so familiar to me for some reason, was he already on a previous season of Bachelorette? I loved Emily's outfit at dinner, that black leather jacket with the turquoise beaded top and white jeans, stunning!
Nate, I think you are pronouncing quinoa incorrectly, sorry dude, it is keen-wah and talk about a more awkward dinner conversation. Nate: I will eat it, John maybe you aren't adventurous enough to eat it. John: Nate shut your face I will eat the KEEN-wah.
Ok John got the rose over Nate, I think she made the right call.

The cocktail hour and rose ceremony:
Dang, Emily scores again with that lovely one shoulder white jumpsuit. Wait, a jumpsuit?! Anyways with the huge pearl multi-strand necklace. Again, a jumpsuit?!
Emily why do you continue to give Jef the rose when you hope there is a romantic connection there but maybe there isn't from his side. And you hung out on two beaches with Jef and that is your rational for giving him the rose on the group date?
What do you think about Chris and Doug's confrontation? Or rather Chris being up in Doug's face?
Really Kalon was picked again?
Wow Alejandro, the mushroom farmer with both ears pierced was selected over Charlie and Michael? I love Michael's hair, and I wish they had a better connection, so I could see him and his beautiful hair much more in the episodes and sad he has never fallen in love before. :-(

Bachelorette Tuesday #3

Hope everyone had a nice and safe Memorial Day and enjoyed their three day weekend. Weekend re-cap coming up especially of the Sugarland concert which in one word was awesome. More on that later, it is bachelorette time!

Again, I want to start with a few fashions of hers that my closet.

From the episode tonight, that lovely striped white and green top named Aceline by Joie, only for a relatively cheap $208. Emily was wearing this top during the group date and how cute was she in those blue shorts and this striped top. Thank you again Possessionista for your marvelous detective work.

Oh, and I want that red statement ring she wore with this outfit.

I also want that grey striped sweater she wore on her date with Arie to Dollywood, now to find out where I can purchase it.

Additionally, I saw this Town and Reese ring in tonight's episode, in the previews for next week's episode and then her official photo at the Bachelorette and it is only $30!

Now for the episode recap and Emily's perfectly pearl white teeth.

I like Chris but I don't think they are the best match. And climbing for your dinner, I love ABC for their dates that you know match real life experience, hanging on the side of the building is equal to will my partner hang out to me during difficult parts of life. Yup totally makes sense.
Oh and my reaction is the same to Emily's about Chris's age, wow 25 really?
Another similarity Luke Bryan is one of my favorite country singers too and I loved that songs he played in the episode, love it! Plus I am still on my country music high from the Sugarland concert on Sunday. I am dying to tell you all about it by the way. Did I already mention that?
The first kiss of the season goes to Chris, although I do think it was really sweet he was respectful enough to ask if he could kiss her.

Clearly, this season is a lot more different than any of the previous Bachelor or Bachelorettes because of Emily's daughter so having her friends grill the men well in advance to help weed out those who might not quite be ready to be an instant dad.
Oh and Doug if you were really into Emily, you shouldn't be nervous about being interviewed by her friends unless you have something to hide.
I love Emily's friend sitting on Sean while he was doing push-ups and clearly he was a winner among her friends.
Her conversation with Sean makes me like him even more for her, I hope he continues to stick around and yes she gave him the rose!
Tony didn't even try to protest her asking him to leave, so maybe he wasn't fully committed as well. Oh well, Tony I had high hopes for you because you are a dad already.


The second one on one date, I think the quote of the night goes to Kalon asking Arie can you drive a stick shift? No Kalon he can't even as a race car driver, he has to drive an automatic.
I don't have a lot to say about this second solo date except it was cool that Dolly Parton was one, I am just not feeling the spark between the two honestly.

The cocktail hour.
 Kalon you are so gone after that comment of please let me finish! And yet she is continuing to keep you on, why?
I guess I was mistaken in my comment that maybe Travis would be gone because the egg got smashed but looks like he will be sticking around minus the egg named Shelley.
Alessandro, I think you need to watch yourself in last night's episode and rethink what you said about compromise and honor and why you were dismissed.
Sean you are so at the top of my list for many many reasons... don't need to explain anymore.
So the count for this week 3 guys gone in one episode, Stevie you are cute but...

Bachelorette Tuesday #2

Ok two things learned from the multiple of Bachelorette re-caps, first that Arie has a past and it is so much reading all the re-caps, it is like gossiping with all my friends across the country when I wish that we were actually all together in one living room watching the episode together. I love Sean but he is all-male and doesn't understand this phenomenon of our love for the Bachelorette. A girl needs her gossip and girl time at times!

Before I go into the episode re-cap, I want to share from fashions on the lovely miss Emily that I am swooning over. Thanks to the hard work of Possessionista if anyone has an extra $90 laying around and they would like to send me a gift, please buy this cute little number for me. Thanks!

I am not a fan of the romper per say but how cute is this romper that Emily wore when she was on the show Live with Kelly. Maybe you don't think this outfit counts because she didn't wear it in last night's episode. But we are discussing all things Emily here.

 How cute is it, found at Urban Outfitters for $69 and I love how Emily paired it with a blazer.

Also did anyone see those glittery pumps on her feet? Ah-mazing for only $89 at Macys along with that one-sleeve red lace dress.

Ok let's talk about the episode.

First, the intro to Charlotte, I am pretty excited about this because Sean and I will be in Charlotte next month, maybe I will see her? Here's hoping!!

First date was with Ryan, I think it was a good choice. He is a hottie, man those cheekbones too, haha.

I think it was sweet she made cookies with Ryan and she didn't mess around with those questions at dinner. 

How awkward must have that been to be slow dancing while half of Charlotte is standing there looking at you and taking photos or video-taping? 

On to the group date, how cute was Tony speaking like Kermit the Frog? Also, I want to know does Kalon do Botox because I would bet you money he does? Sorry he is just so annoying to me, his lips hardly move when he talks and he is too preppy.

Was that conversation between Jef and Emily not one of the most awkward, I felt like Emily was schooling a little boy on the basics of showing you are interested in another human being.

On to the last solo date with Joe, the Greenbrier was absolutely gorgeous. I loved that dress she wore at the beginning of the date. I think it was a good choice to send Joe home, it seemed forced between them. However, he could have been a bit more gracious on his exit.

The rose ceremony now. Why did she keep Kalon and the mushroom farmer, the one with both of his ears pierced. I would have kept Aaron and Kyle and told Kalon and mushroom farmer to take a hike but maybe next week we will find out what she has with both of them that she kept them around.

Bachelorette Tuesday

Ok here it is the first episode re-cap of Emily Maynard's Bachelorette season on ABC. Yes, I full named her and yes I did mention the company who produces the show. I am trying to make it all official here people!

During these re-caps, I will be completely honest with what I think about the guys, about Emily and about her fashion sense. Remember, I am just here to give an episode re-cap each week so please don't tar and feather me with you don't agree with me.

First, up I am just gonna say it. I don't think the guys are that incredibly hot honestly. There I said it! Let's move on.

Second, I like that they got out of the LA area and was in her hometown. A different venue, different atmosphere, I like it!

Lastly, Emily isn't going to waste her time or the guy's time, why because she has her daughter to think of, not just herself so I think any guy would might just come onto the show for exposure or just a "good time" will be canned quick. 

Ok onto the episode!

Alright, why is Emily's hair always so perfect, I want some hair tips from her please!
Her dress she wore was gorgeous.

Let's talk about the guys.
These are my top contenders.
Charlie - because he is easy on the eyes and he seems down to earth

Tony - why because he is a single dad too and they would be a perfect and cute family, although his introduction was the most cheesy one ever!

Travis - because Emily needs a southern gentleman to take care of her and her daughter.
Did you see how nervous he was when there was one rose left, I thought that egg would drop to the floor because he was so nervous.

The first one out of the car too, Sean! (Also I am a bit bias towards his name too)

The uh, maybe, try again
Jackson - because of his cheesy cheesy line he used on her

Same goes with Mr. Biology teacher using his chemistry with you line, yuck!

Does anyone think that Joe looks like Jesse from DeAnna's season?

Hm.. I'm not a fan of Doug who she gave the first impression rose, so he will have to grow on me if she intends to keep him around for several episodes.
Of course I have to mention Kalon, the guy who came in on the helicopter, really dude really?
