How to Dress for a Wedding

Let's see, it is  Friday, can I get a woohoo and it is Friday's Fancies, can I get another woohoo!! What are your weekend plans? Tomorrow we are probably keep it low-key because Sunday through Monday, Sean and I are off to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary and then if you want to count July 18 as the 3rd anniversary of when he proposed. The deal for us is he plans the odd-numbered year anniversaries and I plan the even. He doesn't know what we are doing so I can't write about it just in case he does decided to read today's post.
Today's Friday's Fancies of wedding guest attire is actually a perfect lead into next week because I am sharing more of our wedding, the details, the particulars, etc.
Anyways I will say this about wedding guest attire, please be appropriate.
At our wedding, I came back from our honeymoon and all my co-workers asked me who was that girl who was practically wearing a t-shirt? I think technically it was a dress but it easily be as an extra long t-shirt. Additionally, we had a guest who wore a little too short yellow dress with white shorts underneath the dress, not appropriate.
When it comes to appropriate guest attire, the invitation should tell you all. If the invitation is rather fancy, dress fancy. Sometimes more fancy weddings will instruct on the invitations, black-tie required.
Do some research about the venue where the ceremony and reception will take place.

This is the outfit I created for this week's Friday's Fancies.

There you have it! Have a great weekend everyone!

Darling! So summery, and lots of fresh color! As a wedding director, I know what you mean...people will show up in ANYthing! I've always thought weddings an occasion to showcase your best, but apparently other people don't share my opinion ;-)

I really like this post because when it comes to weddings (especially in the fall) I have a hard time figuring out what is appropriate and how colorful to get.

YES I love this dress! Happy early annivesary! We had someone wear jeans to ours - our super hipster friend who played the clarinet for me while I walked down the aisle. It rubbed me the wrong way, our invitations said semi-formal outdoor attire but I guess that could be translated as "wear a nice short sleeved shirt, put a tie on and that makes jeans ok". Whatever, I say!

Yikes, can't believe people felt like super short dresses were appropriate for a wedding! I really like the cute little clutch you've included in your collage :)

I love this dress! And yes, why do people dress so inappropriately for weddings? Dresses that can double as tshirts SCREAM, "I'm looking for a man!!" Right?

I love this outfit. I'm on the hunt for the perfect outfit for my friend's wedding in September and this is pretty close to what I was looking for - playful, colorful, but still elegant.

Happy anniversary, btw!! Can't wait to see more from your wedding :)

Happy anniversary! Mine is in July too. Love the colors of the dress and oh yeah EVERYONE always remembers the inappropriate dressed girl...at mine it was a girl who wore a dress similar to the one J Lo wore many moons ago that was all controversy! You know the one that had to be taped and left very little to the imagination?hahaha

Looooove the outfit, especially the ring! ;) Happy anniversary and I hope you had a lovely time celebrating.

LOVE that outfit for a wedding. I hate showing my arms, so wedding outfits are always so tough. I think I need to go into a business that makes long-sleeved flowy dresses and tops - there just aren't enough out there!
