Saturday and Sunday are my two favorite days of the week

Good Monday morning followers and visitors :-)
I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend, I certainly did and always sad to see another weekend go away, some days I seriously wish that my husband could be the sole bread winner and I could stay at home but then some days I enjoy being at a full-time job and getting to help those around me.
Like I said this weekend was enjoyable, and for weekends after weekends to be described as such is a great feeling, which is why I am sad to see each weekend disappear so quickly.

Just a few things to share with you all. Friday night, my husband was suppose to work and I had plans to hang out with my friend, Laura (the one who just moved back from New York) by going to a local Friday night farmer's market. This is the most popular one in the area that I live in, and since Sean was going to be home earlier than expected the three of us went. The weather was perfect for a summer night, and the food was delicious thanks to a humongous bag of kettle corn cooked on the spot.

Saturday as I had mentioned in my Friday post I had plans to meet up with the lovely Becca from A Blonde's Logic. The thing about blogging is when you meet up with a blogging friend you already know a little bit about the other person so you kinda just start talking about like you had been actual friends in life outside of the blogging world and this was no exception with Becca. We had a very successful first time blogging meet-up. Lunch was terrific and we did a bit of window shopping in downtown Orange. Here is proof that we met up!
Adorable, yes?

Recently I have been trying to change the look of our living room, I'm attempting the country chic look and can reveal to you a few things. I saw this on Williams-Sonoma on sale and couldn't pass it up :-) I love tea lights and I thought the woven holder was adorable and oh so country chic!

Sitting on one of our end tables.

Last Wednesday in my Oh Pinteresting post I mentioned I found a striped rug in our garage. I also found a white lamp with a lampshade. And that got this little head of mine churning with some ideas of how to redecorate our living room. I didn't like the lampshade I found, plus there were a few places where the shade was cracked. I went to our local Lowes and bought a replacement lampshade but came home and found it didn't fit the lamp.
That day I also  happened to stop at Michaels and bought some cute red damask printed burlap bags that are wine bags. My original plan was to wrap a wreath with the burlap but what did I do instead? I covered the old lampshade with that burlap bags. Look at my handiwork!

Using the oh so wonderful Modge Podge to glue the fabric into place

Gluing down the fabric
Making sure the fabric wrapped over the edges and was glued down tightly!
The edges
It took me a week of gluing, drying, more gluing and more drying. I have to use four of those burlaps bags which I cut to open
In its new home in our living room instead of out in the garage, looking so pretty!
Lastly, if you all could see prayers and good thoughts to my husband and his team who are traveling today, I would greatly appreciate it. :-) I am a bundle of nerves with them driving considering what happened last year, see last Tuesday's post. Fortunately thought one my friend is coming over to hang out with me tonight and watch Bachelor Pad, that ought to take my mind off of the traveling.

Lamp shade is so cute! I really admire people who take on the tasks of DIY projects. I'm hoping that if I read enough blogs about it, I will get the itch/creative juices too lol

Kettle corn sounds so amazing right now, especially some that has been freshly made! Yum!

I absolutely love what you did with your lamp shade. It turned out beautiful, and I think it will look great with your new living room theme!

Also- I will say a quick prayer to St. Christopher for your husband and his team. Glad you have a friend coming over tonight to help keep your mind off things.

Reading through your posts...LOVE your blog! The lampshade is especially adorable!! Read last Tuesday's post...I remember hearing about the Cal Baptist accident last year...so tragic. Will be praying for your husband and the team as they travel. My husband and I did XC/Track for Point Loma Nazarene, and now my husband is an assistant XC/Track coach here in Abilene, TX...so cool to see that we have that in common! Xo, Katie

Great job on the lamp! Love the fabric. I too often wish my hubby could be the bread winner and I could stay home!! I have hope though that at least when we have kids I'll be staying home with them, and if he gets a really good job, maybe stay home for longer!!
