being a mom...

So Sunday is technically my second Mother's Day. I was pregnant with Caleb on Mother's Day last year, we just didn't know it yet :-)
In honor of Mother's Day, I first want to take a moment to thank my mom for all that she did for us growing up. It is true, you don't understand the sacrifices or appreciate how much your mom (and dad) do for you until you are a parent yourself.

The rest of today's post is dedicated to my son who is the one who made me a mom. I am not a mom just because I birthed a child, I am a mom because I love, I am a mom because I care, I am a mom because I am needed.

God changed my heart through a little boy named Caleb.
God has showed me how much He really does love us through a little boy named Caleb.
God has showed me how much more dependent I need to become on Him through a little boy named Caleb.
God has used a sweet boy to teach me more patience.
God has given me the sweetest gift I could ever imagine and at times I don't feel worthy of what an awesome gift Caleb is to Sean and I.

Sometimes the words escape me when I try and describe the joy I have in being Caleb's mom and I am feeling that right now therefore I will end this post with photos of this precious boy that has changed me.

I love this boy!

Awww Happy Mother's Day!! He's such a sweetie!! Sidenote: Is that skin along his hairline in the last picture? Beckett's whole head is dry (we got rid of the cradle cap, but where his head lays against his bed/swing/carseat, along his eyebrows, and his earlobes, cheeks & forehead are all dry and flaky. I've tried putting coconut oil on it, but it just seems to work for an hour or two and it's gone. Does Caleb have dry skin? If so, have you been able to find anything to help it?
