Every trip needs a good story!

This isn't part 2 of my Big Bear recap but rather a good story because every good trip needs one. So on Friday the day Sean and I went to the wedding, I was wearing this outfit...

shortly before the photo was taken I biffed it up pretty bad!
But let me take you back even further, I love Jelly Belly jelly beans. Like I used o know every flavor just by looking at them, I had to try the new flavors that came out and have even been to the Jelly Belly factory up in Fairfield, CA. Anyways there was this cute candy shop in Big Bear and I decided I wanted some Jelly Bellys. I put some in a bag and then Sean walks into the store, adding more of this and that. He paid for the candy and walked out proudly declaring most expensive candy ever, we bought almost $10 worth.
Then we headed back to the car because we had to leave for the wedding soon. As we were walking back and coming across some ice, Sean said, "be careful Meg, there is ice" while I was busy in my own world happily eating my candy with the bag in my hand. And then it happened, I totally ate it on the ice, legs swooped to the left and the rest of my body to the right. While I was going down, candy and all, I smacked Sean in the face with the bag of candy. I landed promptly on my right hip and the majority of the candy slipped all over the pavement and ice. I was horrified because I was afraid my skirt would be dirty, my sparkly tights would be ripped and those were the only clothes I brought to wear to the wedding. Fortunately the only casualty because the candy was the slit in the back of the skirt was ripped a teensy bit.

So moral of the story:

  • listen to your husband when he tells you to be careful when walking on ice
  • don't wear the only outfit you have to a nice event hours before the actual event
  • don't eat candy and walk on ice at the same time

Ouch! That must have hurt but it makes a good story at least. :) I can see the jelly bellies now, scattered all over the ice after smacking your hubs in the face with them. Hopefully you had at least some left!

Those icy patches can come out of nowhere! Glad you're okay and it looks like the skirt can be saved as well... but I hope you didn't eat the jelly bellies off the ground. ;-)

Oh no! Glad you weren't hurt! We went to a destination wedding a couple of years ago and I was changing for the wedding in our hotel room - and the zipper wouldn't zip, at all!! Thank GOODNESS Nick had suggested I bring a spare dress, husbands do know best, right?! ;)

fyi: if eating candy and walking on ice at the same time is wrong, i don't want to be right ;).

Ouch! At least it was the back slit of the skirt (which is totally cute btw). I got a little too low at a wedding we went to this summer and did the same thing (insert sheepish smile here)
