Let's redo Christmas

Why do I want to redo Christmas, so Sean and I will be with my family again, enjoying each other's company and reliving the Christmas traditions.
Just a little re-cap of our Tucson Christmas.
Christmas Eve we always decorate cut-out cookies, my dad frosts and the rest of us , my mom, sister, brother and I decorate the cookies with the sprinkles, cinnamon buttons and other cookie decorations. Sean helped my dad this year with the frosting task.

Can you believe this is half of the usual amount of cookies we frost and decorate?
After putting out cookies and a glass of milk for Santa and a carrot or two for his reindeer, we all went to bed.
For Christmas morning, we are patient enough to have breakfast first before opening up stockings and presents. Grapefruit, coffee, and eggs benedict has become our standard Christmas morning breakfast.

We had a special visitor this Christmas on the front light of my parent's house, a baby owl, just sitting and chilling.

I wish I could feel the excitement of the children in our house when we had Christmas, it is just so magical.

We used to decorate cookies like that, but now the girls prefer their gingerbread houses.

Nick and I did our first year of cookie decorating too! Those shapes can be hard to peel out, but we found out (the hard way) the dough has to be really cold!

That's just HALF of what you used to make?? Dang! That's a lot of cookies!
We usually eat before we open presents as well. A girl has to eat in order to open all of her presents, right?? ;D
