Feeding your marriage

Let's be realistic here today. Life is challenging, there is always something on your plate, something to deal with, take care, whatever it may be. There are chores to be done, dogs, laundry and cars to be washed, you may or may not have gone to the grocery store this week. There is always one last thing that needs to be done, lets for today put all of that aside and focus on your best friend, the man who asked you to marry him, to go through life with, lets nurture that relationship today with a few ideas, the chores still might need to be done later on but do they really matter?

1. write your husband an email telling him how much you love and why you love him
2. send him a text thanking him for all the wonderful qualities he brings into your life
3. type up a letter telling your husband what a great provider he is to your household, how much he takes care of his family and thank him for all the little things he does for you and maybe you haven't told him how much those little things mean
4. make him his favorite dinner
5. pack him a lunch so he doesn't have to decide what is for lunch today
6. bake him his favorite dessert whether it be cookies, brownies, pie, etc
7. plan a date for you two, it doesn't have to be fancy ask him to meet you for a drink right after work for happy hour, have a picnic on your living room floor
8. text him an address to a restaurant or somewhere else, tell him not to look up the address but use GPS to take him there and him meet you there at a certain time
9. surprise him by doing the chores that he does around the house,
10. love him even if he isn't exactly loveable at that moment
11. pray for him, pray for his work and pray for his leadership in your family
12. give him a foot rub or back massage or neck massage
13. whatever you do, just make sure your husband know he is your priority today and every day!

Great ideas, they're all so sweeet! And it's true, you should always work at your marriage, it should never been thrown it the bottom of the pile of your daily life.

Thank you for this post! I love this so much! Feeling inspired to be a better wife. :)

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. -Ephesians 5:22-33

jamie i would say keep it simple, be each other's best friend, source of support, encouragement and continue to grow your relationship, date, flirt, etc after the wedding day.

Such a great list! I've actually been doing something really similar to this called "The Husband Project" with two of my girlfriends (we are all keeping each other accountable). It's been a lot of fun to find little ways to bless my husband! :)
