It has come to my attention that a certain breakfast dish goes by multiple different names.
This is the breakfast dish that I am referring to which my mom would frequently make growing up.
In my parent's household, this dish was called toad in the hole.
I have heard it called eggs in a basket and someone recently called it one-eyed gypsy.

Oh man your mom was so cool! I have heard the term "eggs in a basket" but I never knew what they were referring too. I never seen this cute dish so I am not much help!
Love this! My aunt used to make it for me and called it a "Moon over Miami". This is still often my dinner;)
YUM! Eggs in a basket for me. Sometimes I even make another variation of this by smooshing butter bread in a cupcake tin and cracking the egg in the middle then sprinkling with a little cheese. Comes out actually looking like a basket that way.
No matter what it's called... it is delish! I saw it on the Pioneer Woman's cooking show and made them immediately.
Around here I hear it called eggs in a basket alot! It is so yummy. Now I want one :)
Okay I've never had this dish and it looks amazing. How have I been missing out?? You always set me straight Meg. ;)

Never seen this before ... but it looks really yum ... Toad in the Hole is a British dish consisting of tiny sausages cooked in batter ... this is all I can contribute to the discussion I'm afraid:)
Happy thursday!
wow, no clue. I've never seen or eaten it before. it amazes me sometimes the things i've never heard of or eaten but everyone has.
i made this breakfast and posted the recipe on my blog back in april. i wasn't sure what to call it, so i titled the post "breakfast cut outs." in the comments section, one blogger referred to it as "toad in the hole."
it seems to be called a bunch of different names...i guess it is a regional thing?
I think I've heard of this as eggs in a basket but I can't say that I've ever had it before. :-)
