Health - Oh Pinteresting Wednesday

At the beginning of a new year, most resolutions include weight lost or a more healthy lifestyle, and I always advocate a healthy lifestyle. It is important to treat your body with respect, as God says our bodies is a temple and I try to maintain that so I decided to promote that Pinterest-style.
The first thing I do each morning when I wake up is go for a run. I run 5 days a week, and somewhere between 4-5 miles each day. If you need some motivation, find a running or training partner, both of you will reap the exercise benefits and you got to hang out with a friend!
In fact, I am out running right now with a new running partner!

After my run, I do a few free weights. I love them to tone up my stomach and
make sure I don't get flabby.

For breakfast, I love granola, yogurt and fruit!

During the day, for snack, I love to eat fruit, especially apples, the pink lady kind!

Another vital thing for health is to drink your aqua!!  Can't stress this enough, if you are feeling run down, a little tired, drink up, your body will thank you!

Another healthy drink I like to divulge in frequently is green tea.

Finally, one of the best ways I can keep my husband and I healthy is meal planning, each week, I write out the five meals we will eat. It helps me to make sure we are eating right and eating a balanced meal with plenty of veggies and lean protein. Plus that means I am not always running to the grocery store.

Lastly, don't make excuses for why you can't be healthy! Just don't!

So there you have it, my healthy tips via Pinterest!
p.s. have you entered my shabby apple necklace giveaway yet?

we definitely need to get better at meal planning - I want to start cooking dishes on Sunday night that we can take for lunch all week.

also, those are my running sneakers in your first pin [which are currently my collecting dust in the closet shoes, oops]

I love all of this new year inspiration! It's working for me!

Just wish I could make myself exercise in the mornings. It would make my life so much easier, but I just can't make myself do that.

Wow! Good for you with the running! That's awesome! I love eating fruit... it's my favorite snack. And water and tea are always my go-to, so I guess I have a little bit of a start. :) I have some super awesome news on my blog today that I'm excited to share. Have a good one!

Great tips! I too maintain a healthy lifestyle always, but I think your way better at the exercise portion than me! I'm not a runner, I just really don't enjoy it, but I also get bored with doing the same workout too often....so I find I gotta switch it up a lot. That makes for a lack of motivation sometimes to get up in the morning...can you tell I'm currently in a bit of an exercise rut? Haha

I love that we both did a health post today and we're pretty much eye for eye on everything! Guess we know what we're talking about :)

That is so smart to plan out the 5 meals for the week. I need to be better at that!

Yes, I agree, great tips! I wish I could get back into running during the week. For now I'll keep hitting the gym. Workout with a partner is great. They offer you that extra push/motivation when you're feeling down. I am definitely going to start planning my weekly dinners, becasue it just helps me stay on track. Thanks for the inspiration! Love the pinterest post. Happy New Year!

I love that weekly menu-planning chalkboard... so cute! Sounds like you have a great routine for staying healthy. I find it is easier to work out with someone else too - great motivation and you can catch up a bit while you're at it.

This is a really good way to show others your daily health routine and i might just need to snag it for next week. :) Great routine, btw. It's exactly what mine used to be. Just replace running with elliptical or a class. :)

I love these all Meg! I am like you I love apples as a snack (or really any fruit for that matter). I need to get better about meal planning. But I think living a healthy lifestyle is one of the best things you can do for your body and mind.

I really can't wait to try and become a runner... I was making *some* progress towards it before I got pregnant. Even then I could have kept it up but I was so sick I had to take a gym hiatus and it would be too much to try and start running at 17 weeks. So, instead I will wait until afterwards for the running bit and just keep walking and doing yoga, etc.

You're totally right about the water though - best thing you can do for yourself!!

Cute running shoes & motivation! I am on day 2 of drinking half my body weight in ounces of water and it is helping!

i think getting back into the routine of running is the hardest part for me. since i'm not working out right now though, i have definitely focused more on my eating and water.

Great tips, Meg. I was just talking to another blogger about running. I really need to do it, but I hate it! I should really try though. I walk and hike, but I know you get really fit if you are running.

Where do you run? I have a treadmill that I use but in the Winter I get a little too bored of it. I do it anyway but would much rather be outside!

I am so jealous you have a running partner! I have really been wanting someone to go with me--and to motivate me when it's really cold outside! This is a great post and makes me really want to do better this year!!
