Doorway to my heart - Oh Pinteresting Wednesday

One thing I want to do when my Sean and I own our first home is have a bright and colorful front door. Why? Because to me it means this home is warm, it is inviting and it welcomes family, friends and strangers a like. I love entertaining friends at my home, as you can tell from the baked goods I make each week and I can't think of a better way to say welcome to our home than with a bright, colorful and inviting looking front door.
Doors can invite people in or they can shut the world out, they can allow neighbors to be friends or neighbors to never meet each other. I refuse to allow the latter to happen, and I want to make strangers into friends and always welcome them to my welcome with a friendly door, which is a symbol of welcoming them into my heart and my life.
Here are my pins for the week and of course linking this up over at The Vintage Apple for Oh Pinteresting Wednesday.

I so agree! We are going to be painting our house this fall, and right now our door is the same color as the shutters (a blue gray)...since we will be sticking with the grays and whites, I am seriously considering yellow for the door!

Awww Meg! This post just made my Wednesday. I had never thought about front doors this way, but now I definitely want to hop on the colorful door bandwagon! I love the blue and pink doors best, I think. They are all so pretty and inviting though!

I totally agree with you regarding bright/interesting doors! It's so important to have a door that fits with your family's personality! It's the first thing you and your guests will see when they come into your home and it just sets the tone!
Beautiful! Thanks for the photos!

I love red doors especially. That was the very first thing we did when we moved into our house - painted the door red. None of that white/cream business for us :) It just gives it that warm and friendly feeling.

I absolutely love your analogy about bright doors and it feeling welcoming. Our's is just plain white which is odd because I am definatly a girl who loves her colors! I guess I've never committed to a paint color for the front door because I change my mind ever day!

I LOVE a bright, colorful front door!! I wonder myself what color to paint ours - whenever we buy a house that is. I'm sure the color of the house, front yard, landscape, etc. will help decide!
