Dinner with friends, a picnic and mandatory training session

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had an excellent weekend regardless of what you did, whether hanging out with family, friends, enjoying some downtime to yourself.

*I want to take this time to thank you each and everyone of my followers, you have enriched my life, treat me with kindness and open yourself up to me for which I am very thankful. I appreciate all of your comments, grateful for the time you take to read my posts and make me feel loved.*

As for my title, I would ask what all three of those things have in common, well that would be my weekend. Friday evening, my Sean and I had a married couple friend of ours, we know them through our weekly bible study. They were kind enough to drive us to the airport when we went on our cruise and we wanted to show them our appreciation :-)

Saturday morning, I had to wake up earlier than I ever like on a Saturday to attend a mandatory training session for adjunct teachers. You see on top of my regular job, I am also an adjunct professor of political science, history or public administration. And I want courses offered to me to teach this upcoming year so I had to attend this session to get any classes. Actually I learned a ton and very happy despite the early wake-up call to have attended. The rest of the day was relaxing at home with my Sean and our doggies. I have also been working on a lot of house projects lately, I can't wait to see you when I am finished but they are looking great!

Sunday was a great morning sleeping in with our dogs and then off to teach Sunday school to 3rd graders at our church. We missed the two weeks due to the cruise, and it felt great to come back and be with the kids again. Thank you again to our friends Dusty and Michelle for helping us out by subbing when we were away! After teaching, I had some much mentioned girl time with another friend from our bible study. It always warms my heart when a friend asks to hang out or needs some girl time. Have you ever walked away from time with a girl friend and realized wow I really needed that, feels wonderful, doesn't it?
In the evening, my Sean had a date night! I was so excited for this date, I am excited for any date but this one in particular. On Sunday nights, the city has a free concert in the park. For our date, we rode our bikes to the grocery store, picked up a fried chicken dinner and continued onto the park where the concert was being held. It was such a fun evening with my love, totally relaxing and only cost us $10. Enjoy a few photos from our date (don't worry they are G-rated).

Setting our dinner up

Yummy wine from one of the wineries we visited during our anniversary weekend

Fried chicken, I know super healthy

You guys are super cute! And I am totally digging the fried-chicken-for-a-picnic idea! Brilliant! It's good if it's hot or cold. Temperature doesn't affect the deliciousness. :D
