You know that feeling when you get to work on Monday morning and you just have that wonderful feeling that you had a terrific weekend and you wish you could possibly go back and do it all again. Yah I am on that high right now! Friday night, we went to see Harry Potter with another couple friend of ours, definitely enjoyed the last movie of the series. Now I have to go back and watch the 4 other movies I skipped, oops.
Saturday morning, I was lazy and laid in bed with our beds for much of the morning while my husband went on a run. Then about 12:30pm, we headed to Temecula for some wine tasting! I love when I step out of the car and see beautiful, picturesque scenes like this.
It was such a wonderful afternoon with my Sean. We went to three wineries in that area, we went to the following in order as posted.
At Wilson Creek, they were setting up for a lovely wedding that day as you can see here.
This place was super busy and very crowded. The unique thing about this winery is all the bottles are different for each of their wines, instead of having one bottle style for the whites and another one for the reds, each type of wine had a different bottle. The wines were good here but with the crowds it was hard to learn much about the wines during the tasting. So we headed off the main street in Temecula for the smaller, less populated wineries.
At the next winery, they handed you a card with 5 lines and after each tasting, they would write down the name of the wine you tried. I think that is a great idea because you can remember it later on.
At the third winery, a new winery, the owner Robert was actually there helping to pour and answer questions. I think that added to the touch of the place and they had samplings of their homemade marinara along with the crackers. Wow, great marinara sauce! Now I wish I had bought a bottle. This is the place and since it is a newer winery, the tasting room was in a metal barn but very nice inside.

After a wonderful afternoon of wine tasting, we needed a bit more in our bellies ;-) so we headed to downtown Temecula for dinner. It is a very cute, Western-themed downtown. We ended up at a BBQ joint with outside seating, cute place with lots of good grub except I didn't enjoy the BBQ sauce. Sorry the BBQ is the deal breaker for me.
Here is the restaurant and they had a live band playing.
And our yummy dinner, three meat and two sides plus corn bread!
On to Sunday, which was our actual anniversary. I started out my day with a wonderful 6 mile run with Kimbia, she can definitely keep up, a great running dog and her name, which means to run in Swahili is very appropriate! We taught Sunday school then went to Pasadena for a great breakfast, a top rated place named by Food Network magazine called Marstons. Very cute place!
Here is our grub! Blueberry pancakes and an omelet
Following our meal, my Sean gave me a wonderful present, cash just to go shopping! And he let me shop and patiently waited for me. However at the first shop which was near a Forever 21, I actually while he was sitting down waiting for me to shop, I actually snuck off to the Apple store. He lost his iPod shuffle a few weeks ago so for his anniversary present I bought him a new one. He was so surprised when I gave it to him later! Then I told him the story of me sneaking off to buy it while he thought I was still shopping. He just let me shop the entire afternoon. He is so patient and such a wonderful man. I bought plenty for our upcoming trip. Then we went home to celebrate with cupcakes. The tradition on your first anniversary is to have saved the wedding cake topper from your wedding but we ate ours, plus I wasn't too excited about the idea of eating year old cake. Our bake for our wedding told us we could order a fresh one from her, but unfortunately she went out of business last November. My Sean bought some delicious cupcakes for us to share, red velvet, a strawberry lemonade, raspberry lemonade, and chocolate peanut butter. We had the most delicious red velvet cupcakes at our wedding so of course he had to get those. Oh and I must mention while we were were out shopping, we passed a dog bakery and they were giving coupons for a free pupcake, a cupcake that is ok for dogs! We popped up and got our pupcakes, one for Kip and Kimbia. How cute are they!
Then our cupcakes edible for human consumption only, sorry dogs!

I have an itching to go to a winery, even though I don't really care for wine haha I think it's because they're so beautiful.
