hey i blogged!

So I have been baking but not taking photos and yesterday I had to change that. I mean I need something to blog about, I'm not ready to say goodbye to the blog forever at all. I enjoy it, I really do. I enjoy the connections and friendships I have made from it, I have enjoyed sharing parts of my life with you all. Also I enjoy having a reason to make something sweet each week and try new dessert recipes primarily. Today's recipe is simple, peanut butter oatmeal cookies. Just a basic cookie, nothing fancy but certainly delicious.

Cookie Dough: 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) softened, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 egg, 1/3 cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky), 1 cup flour, 1 cup oatmeal and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
Peanut Butter Glaze: 1/4 cup smooth peanut butter, 1 tablespoon milk.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In your mixing bowl, cream the butter.

Gradually add in the white and brown sugar and mix thoroughly.

Beat in the egg and then the vanilla extract and mix. Lastly, add the peanut butter before you add in the dry ingredients.

Add in the flour, oatmeal and baking soda.
Drop the dough onto a baking sheet, leaving space between as this dough will spread while baking. Bake the cookies for 11-13 minutes or a nice tan color. Remove from the oven and let them cool.
Mix the glaze together and put in a sandwich baggie and snip one of the corners then squeeze onto the cookies then enjoy!
