its ok...

It is ok that...
I murdered a cockroach in our kitchen sink last night. I found it on its back in the sink so I murdered it by turning on the faucet. Buh-bye cockroach! This is like the 4th cockroach we have found in the house, I am getting pretty grossed out by it. My biggest fear? I am going to wake up to one on my face or on Caleb.

My husband ate pumpkin pie on August 14th. It was a free 8 inch pumpkin pie added to my Ralphs club card. I mean hello a whole, free pie?? Not missing the chance to snatch that sucker up.

Sometimes it takes a few days to fold and put clean clothes away. I know, I know but hey when you have a cute kid to hang out with, laundry isn't all that important.

Every night after dinner usually around 8pm I start craving chocolate. I don't know why, I just do and my solution to that problem? I don't have chocolate in the house so I don't indulge in my craving. What does that mean though? That I pretty much have to eat anything sugary to help stop that craving. It is a vicious cycle.

If we had the extra money, I would pay a cleaning service to come clean my house once a week or bi-monthly. Call me lazy if you want. I like a clean house but at the end of the day, I am just so tired to try and do anything on my own.

This new stage of parenting, introducing foods to Caleb freaks me out. It just does, enough said. Veggies, fruit then protein it is in that order. Maybe I will document it on this blog, Adventures into Eating or something like that...

I think my baby is the cutest, happiest baby in the world especially after his second time in the pool yesterday. Some friends of ours were having a pool party in their backyard so that was our afternoon fun. Caleb was splashing, kicking, just loving being in the water. We might have a future fish on our hands.

Have you seen the little boxes of single serving chocolate bars at Trader Joe's, usually by the checkout stands? They have milk and dark chocolate, and each bar is individually wrapped and has only 100 calories. I get these so that I can have "dessert" without blowing my calorie count for the day, and it helps satisfy my sweet craving after dinner!

Mmm I'm ready for pumpkin pie!! And I totally agree with you on the cleaning service. Even if they could just come and only clean my bathrooms... my least favorite chore!

1. Laundry has found a fairly permanent spot in a chair in our living room. I hate it, but it happens and I'd rather do puzzles with Elyse and then chill on the couch with Hubby instead of folding laundry.

2. In our baby budget before Elyse was born I made Hubby include a bi-monthly cleaning lady. BEST MONEY EVER. She comes every other Friday and I'm always SO excited!

3. Have you checked out baby led weaning for Caleb? My SIL did this with our niece and it's so fantastic. Now...it can result in quite the mess, but you should see the things that my 15 month old niece eats. We are plannign to use this same method once Nora starts solid foods.

4. Caleb is adorable. That is all!

I wish I could have a cleaning person come every other week or once a month too. What a treat! I slack on the laundry folding too- and no cute kid here. Oops!

Ugh, yes those stupid late night sweet tooth cravings. Sometimes I keep a bag of dark chocolate in the freezer and have a piece when the craving hits! Caleb is so cute in his little swim outfit :)

i tried to buy pumpkin pie at Costco the other day, they looked at my like I was crazy for asking for it in July. What? That's totally normal to want one in July right?

Also random story: I'll start with my husband is afraid of bugs, I am the bug killer in the family. Back when Baby Fox was about Caleb's age, I had just brought some diapers from outside and the baby is on the changing table while Curtis is changing his diaper, and all of a sudden I see a roach scurry out of the diaper box and onto the changing table, I just screamed, husband screams, grabs the baby and runs out the door and down the hallway. Of course leaving me there...he said he didn't know why I screamed but it seamed like he should grab the baby and run, I said, well at least you grabbed the baby!

Ugh - I despise laundry! Our laundry sorter broke in the move, and I haven't gotten a new one yet. So all of the laundry sorting gets done in our upstairs hallway. You'd think that it would make me finish the laundry faster, but some days it just doesn't motivate me.

I got all worked up about introducing foods to my first two. But now with our third, I'm not as worried about it. Trenton loved every type of baby food I shoved in his mouth, and then turned into the world's pickiest toddler. Charlotte wasn't as big a fan of the purees, but was more adventurous when it came to trying real food. So I'm just going with the flow with Evelyn and trying not to worry about it too much.

He is pretty darn cute! All I know about the food thing, is try to stick to one food at a time. My niece had issues with certain foods, but because my SIL mixed lots of foods it was hard to isolate. For the chocolate craving, you need healthy options! I have Coconut Peanut Butter and celery, chocolate peanut butter and apples, or frozen greek yogurt on hand at all times. Luckily, my sweet tooth has subsided because I started drinking my coffee black.
