a weekend in san diego

Oh is anyone watching the Real Housewives of Melbourne by chance?? Newest favorite show right here, and I might, just might like it even more than the Ladies of London. Also I totally want an Australian accent and maybe my future baby girl will be named Chyka, just sayin'... (actually probably not)

We took a mini family vacation down to San Diego last Friday and Saturday. Thanks to our sweet friend, Laura, we went to the San Diego zoo on Friday and then because I am a great wife I agreed to go to the Chargers training camp on Saturday. We stayed with Sean's aunt, uncle and cousin and had some delicious ratatouille cooked by his uncle who is French.

We had a blast at the zoo! Getting to show Caleb all the animals, tell him about them and even petting a goat until the goat make a goat sound and startled Caleb. The best exhibit at the zoo was of course the pandas. Did you that of the four zoos in the United States that currently have pandas, San Diego is the only zoo west of the Mississippi that has them. The other zoos are Memphis, Atlanta and Washington DC. I posted some of my favorite animals, there were so many we saw it was hard to choose! I'm sorry for the photo overload.

 Koala bear!

 Someone was tired

 Who doesn't love the elephants?

It is crazy flamingos sleep on one leg and the other leg hangs out at a 90 degree angle.

 Little Sebastian anyone?

The hibiscus is the official flower of Okinawa, Japan where I was born.

On Saturday, we went to Qualcomm stadium for the training camp.

Again, major wife points for coming to the training camp, that's all! Have a great Tuesday.

You absolutely gained major wife points for going to training camp!

I LOVE going to the zoo. Animals hold such a special place in my heart and I think there's so much to be learned about them. Some of my favorite memories growing up were going to the zoo with my family. :) I'm glad you were able to take Caleb.

Oh I love the SD zoo, when we went the line to the Pandas was way to long and we wanted to see other things, so we didn't get to see them. Maybe next time. The zoo is just too big to see everything! It's like you need two days to really enjoy it and not have to rush through everything! Although having a3.5 year old that would stare at giraffes all day slows things down a bit too.

OMG so jealous of your trip to the San Diego zoo! I've been once but it was probably around the same age as your little one so I don't remember anything about it! :( I want to go back so bad though!

So cool to know you were born in Japan! Looks like you had a great weekend in San Diego. I still haven't been, but I am sure it's just as nice as the other parts of Southern CA I have visited. I actually took Marli to the zoo today except it was soooo hot and humid outside. I can't wait to travel with her in the future. And, yes mama...major brownie points for going to the game!
