Happy Father's Day (yesterday)

Since I didn't manage to post this in time, I still wanted to get this post up to acknowledge and thank the two most important men in my life (well three, Caleb is the third) - my dad and my husband.

To my Dad - who was the first man to love me, who taught me math and science when it never came easy to me but would spend pointless hours helping me understand it more and never got frustrated with me when I just didn't get it. He taught us the importance of being physically active - all the sports I was involved in growing up was because of him having taught us how to play soccer, volleyball, tennis, softball and of course just general exercise. He has loved my mother over 34 years of marriage making her his one and only, thank you for remaining committed to her and showing us that loving her was a constant priority in your life. He served his country for over 24 years in the Air Force and through it showed his family different parts of the countries and even a foreign country twice. He is one of the hardest working men that I know, continually putting in the hours and always wanting to improve himself and learn more like learning a foreign language enough to be proficient at age 40 because it was a requirement for a job. Now you are a grandfather and I see you just melt at your grandson. I'm looking forward to seeing all that you will teach your grandson.

To my husband - these last four months seeing you as Caleb's father have been nothing short of amazing. I love how you immediately want to come see him when you get home to hug and kiss him. I love how just one night away at a track meet and you miss him. The joy that I see you in being Caleb's father is wonderful and I am so grateful for how you love your son and want to spend time with him. You work hard to provide for this family and I appreciate all the work you do. You lead this family and make sure we remember who we belong to first, God. Caleb will learn from you what it means to be a man of God. Caleb will learn from you how to throw a baseball, kick a soccer ball, how to solve math problems because let's face it you are much better at math than I am. As Caleb grows I know your love for him will just continue to grow and I look forward to seeing your relationship with him just blossom!
