Maternity staples...

I'm at the point in this pregnancy where pants are a bit too tight in the belly area, the buttoning or zipping isn't really happening but I am not full on maternity wardrobe yet. I have to admit that when I found out I was pregnant, I had a secret Pinterest board, titled, "Baby" and 90% of my secret board was maternity styles. I was a bit afraid of loosing my personal style during this pregnancy but I have been finding a few pieces recently that will allow me to have a stylish pregnancy. While in Anthropologie last Saturday, I had some chest of drawer knobs and the sales associate asked what I was going to do with them and I told her my son's nursery. Then she mentioned that she was expecting to, a month before me and then it led to a discussion of maternity styles. I am bound and determined that just because I am pregnant doesn't mean I have to change me and the styles I feel best in.
I pulled together a few items that I currently have or would like to have, pieces that are versatile and the great thing as I progress further into this pregnancy into winter means wearing sweaters/cardigans and jackets that are non-maternity. Layering will be necessary too!
Any moms have advice on what maternity staples I need to include in my basic wardrobe?

Stripes and polka dots...you can never go wrong with those! I loved (LOVED) the full waisted maternity jeans...I never EVER thought I'd buy them, but they were almost as comfortable as yoga pants. When you get into your third trimester, definitely give them a try. Very easy to move around in, and very comfortable. I bought mine at Old Navy!

Leggings and Cardigans were my must haves. I had one great pair of work pants that I think I wore every day of the 3rd trimester. Ha! Cute picks!

I loved my maxi skirt, so comfy while pregnant and then you can wear it after baby comes when you still have that pooch from the baby. If it wasn't so hot out, I would be wearing my maternity maxi everyday!

I'm right there with you! I went shopping yesterday and I bought maternity clothes at Sears and Motherhood Maternity. Then I went in Charlotte Russe. I found a pair of leggings, some skinny belts, and a long shirt with ruching on the side, and I walked out of that store on Cloud 9. Something about being able to shop in the same store and feel like you can keep your style that makes all the difference in the world. BUT, if you're looking for some cute long shirts (like to wear with leggings), our Sears had a small section, but it was almost all cute and it was 40% off. I'm glad my mom dragged me in there, otherwise I would have never gone, because really, who thinks of Sears as having cute, stylish clothes, right?
