I'm sitting out in my backyard on a step enjoying the stillness of the night after as the weekend is winding down (I write my posts the night posts in case you were wondering) and I am feeling just grateful. Grateful for all the wonderful comments and congratulations from all of you on the blog or Instagram on our news of finding out we are having a boy. I am grateful for this wonderful house God provided for us, I know without a doubt this house and His plan to move as quick as we did was entirely Him. I'm grateful for those who came to help us pack, load and then unload on such short notice we had. I'm grateful for friends who have helped me celebrate this baby throughout each step.
Then I thought it is easy to be grateful when life is going good, it is always harder to be grateful or find the gratitude when life is more challenging and difficult. Along the way with the lesson of gratitude, I have also been taught the lesson of patience. Patience on waiting for God's will and His provision because His way and always right and I don't ever want to be wrong.
Like I said it is easy to be grateful especially right now because of the newness of living in this house, and of the newness of knowing we are having a son. My challenge to myself is when the newness wears off, when challenges appear, and when the struggles seem never-ending to still have gratitude through it all. I'm not saying hold my head up high and act like nothing is wrong and life is perfect but to show some gratitude that even when life is challenging, I can still find some good through it all.
So that is my challenge, what is your challenge for yourself?

Love this post! I love that last quote too, I've posted one before. It's so easy to get caught up and not take the time to be grateful for all the little things, but it's so important to make it a daily habit to thank God for these things that make our lives richer.
Beautiful post.
Love this post! So well said!

That is so true. It is harder to be grateful when things are tough or something in your life isn't going the way you hoped. It's always difficult for me, and I may complain or pout or throw a tantrum, but I'm always reminded how good life is by the little things.. they always make me focus on the positives~~
Love this post. That last quote is amazing!
love this! and you couldn't have picked a better quote. there really is always something to be grateful for!
I figure every morning that I wake up is something to be grateful for :)
In the notes in my Bible it says "Thankfulness is the antidote for worry." It's one of my favorite sentences, because it's so SO true. Being grateful and thankful is important all the time, not just in the good times, but when it's hard as well. Because it puts everything into perspective.
Great post! You're right, when times are difficult it's hard to find things to be grateful for. It's something I tend to deal with especially as of lately. Regardless, it's true. There's always something to be grateful for!

That's a very good challenge Meg. You are right...it's the challenging times that make it harder to be grateful for what you have. But even if you can be grateful in the most difficult of times I think that shows a strength unparallelled. Happy Monday friend!
great post! I am trying to be thankful & grateful for what we have...even as we await and pray for answers regarding our future housing situation. Thank you for the reminder that sometimes I just need to sit and be still!
What a lovely post... so true about gratefulness. But such a good thing to recognize. So happy for your growing family!
Congrats on your baby boy! (I'm late on that news!). & yes, it's so important to always be grateful~
always, koru kate
It is so easy to be "grateful" in easy time but so hard to remember how badly we still need his grace!! Love this post!
