Monday afternoon I was in the mood to bake cookies, who am I really kidding, I am always in the mood to bake cookies. Cookies are kinda my thing, they are easy to make, you can add or remove what you like or dislike and they aren't too overly sweet. Some cupcakes you feel like you are eating a whole bagful of sugar but a cookie doesn't. A cookie will give you enough sweetness but won't make you full unless you are eating a jumbo-sized cookie. Cookies are so much my thing, I am thinking of branching out and baking cookies, starting small on Etsy then moving onto farmers market and then moving onto who knows.
I have even thought of a name for my online cookie bakery, nutmeg & BUTTER. Why nutmeg, because one of my uncles would always call me that growing up, even at 29 years old, it will occasionally slip out. Nutmeg is who I am, and butter because you gotta use butter in your cookies. I feel nutmeg & BUTTER explains what type of business it is, something involving food.

I have four cookies so far in my baking line-up and this is one of them, the best chocolate chip cookies. That's right I said it, the best ever!
First, gather together your ingredients. 2 cups and 2 tablespoons flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 3/4 cup (12 tablespoon butter), 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1 egg, 1 egg yolk, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and 1 1/4 cup chocolate chips.
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F. In a small bowl, combine the flour and the baking soda until thoroughly mix and set aside.
In your mixing bowl, cream the butter then add in both sugar and mix these three ingredients together until light and fluffy.
Next, add in the egg, egg yolk and vanilla extract.
Cream all these ingredients together.
Now add in the dry ingredients and mix until thoroughly combined.
Add in the good stuff now, those chocolate chips and mix mix mix!

Scoop the cookie dough into cookies, about 1/4 cup and place cookies about 2 inches apart, they will spread slightly when baking.
Bake the cookies for 15-17 minutes then remove them from the oven and let them cool about 2-3 minutes before you take them off the baking sheet.
Then serve, eat and enjoy!

Oh my goodness that looks so good! Now I am craving cookies.
That would be awesome! Do it! The great thing about Etsy is that it's not crazy risky because it's not a *HUGE* investment. You can pick and choose how much you want to invest in it with different seasons. I say, go for it!
You can check out my etsy shop on my blog, too!
my mouth is watering right now.
i wish the pictures were real and i could just swipe my finger in the dough!! hahaha yum!
That is such a great idea to start selling your cookies on Etsy! I can tell you really love to cook/bake. I say go for it!

Holy cow do these look good! We lived in Australia when I was little, where nutella was an absolutely staple. Basically the American version of PB. These guys would give my family a trip down memory lane!
