On the Last Day of Winter...

Happy first day of spring!
What did you do yesterday on the last day of winter?
We bundled up in our parkas for one last time, slept in our long johns last night, drank one last piping hot cup of cocoa and then this morning, packed it all away until winter returns later this year. Of course, I am kidding. But what we did do on the last day of winter is this:

Sean drank milk straight from the carton
Recognize the shirt from one of my recent Friday Favorites post?

Kip slept

Kimbia chewed on the most durable dog toy even durable for jack russell, the Kong

The daffodils my mom and I bought earlier in the day started to bloom, welcoming spring into the world!

And my mom, Sean and I played the best card game known to man, well to me, Five Crowns.
Be aware if you come visit me in my house, I might talk you into playing this game. The card game is best when you have at least three people, which is a problem when it is only Sean and I living in this house. So when I have the opportunity for a third player for this game, I jump on that opportunity, just saying...

So that was our last day of winter, how was yours?
Sorry for these posts the last few days, with my mom in town the last few days, my energy and thoughts were being with her, unfortunately she left today. :-( Not how I wanted to start my first day of spring.

Haha, I stood in front of my thermostat at home wondering, why I am so cold. And then realized the heat wasn't on. Today, it's 32 degrees on the first day of spring...

it definitely doesn't look like spring in these parts! Maybe I should go buy some flowers. :) Oh...I don't have a recipe for lemon chicken...my mom used to make it for me growing up...but i'm sure there are a gazillion recipes on pinterest!

Meg your pups are ADORBS. We had a Jack Russel-Pit mix when I was in high school and the beginning of college (stupid drunk hit-and-run driver took her away from us--SO SAD), but she would NEVER play with any toys, especially the Kong! We couldn't even tempt her with peanut butter in there; she just wasn't a toy gal.

My dogs destroy most dog toys...the Kong is no match for their teeth!

daffodils are so fun. I love how they move around so much. We went to a childrens book reading at Pottery Barn, visited the spring bunny, and got home before it started to rain =)

We hung out with my brother, sister in law and nephew. It was fun, but happy to have the house back to ourselves after they were there for three days. :)

Thank goodness for Kong! We have one that would destroy anything else. Glad you are enjoying your time with your mom. I am halfway through Living in Proverbs! Thanks for the recommendation. We got a touch of spring, but it is going to be downright cold later tonight and tomorrow!

Winter doesn't want to leave. I hope Spring pushes him out very soon!

I can't wait for flowers to actually bloom!

Sorry your mom left :( I always feel like that when I have to leave my mom. I'm seriously homesick for days whenever I leave.

I've never heard of that card game. Sounds fun! It was rainy here for the last day of winter so I worked most of the day then went out for to a private museum exhibit in the evening. I also had 2 or 3 mugs of hot chocolate throughout the day... :)
