An impromptu date night...

On Sunday after Sean was baptized we were walking back to the car when Sean asked me, what are you doing tonight? Seeing as how we didn't have any plans, I answered with nothing and he asked again what are you doing tonight and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I responded again with we have nothing planned.
Then he produced two tickets from behind his back to Sunday night's Lakers game against the Atlanta Hawks and he said, "we are going to a Laker game tonight." Fist, to know my husband, you know that he is a Laker hater, he roots for the Spurs and second, financially we couldn't afford a Laker game right now. While he was waiting to get baptized, a woman came up to him and asked if he was free tonight and wanted two tickets to the Laker game and of course he said yes so that is how we found ourselves on an impromptu date night to the Laker game.
We only spent $10 on transportation to the game by the way by taking the LA subway to the Laker game rather than driving then paying $25 for parking and then sitting in traffic heading back to our place. We are becoming pros at the LA subway system.

We thug it out

How was the rest of my weekend? It was fun, it was very much friend-filled and it was fabulous, all the three f's that I feel would make for a wonderful weekend. Where was Sean? He was at a track meet on Saturday and left Friday afternoon and came back early Sunday morning. On Friday, I met a new friend for coffee. Aren't making new friends one of the best things? Saturday morning, I tried a fitness class, called Skyburn, a trampoline place and on Sunday and even into Monday I definitely felt the burn. A quick afternoon trip to Hobby Lobby with some more friends followed by an evening out with Leeann of Join the Gossip.
I had a cheeseburger and she went all healthy on me and had a salad.

In case you thought it was the same, yes, it is the same burger from the place Sean and I went to on our Valentine's Day date. You see what happens when you post photos of delicious restaurants, your friends notice and then they want you to take them there and if the food is good who cares how many times in recent memory you have gone? Meeting up with a friend is always a great reason to go back.

Oh and another exciting thing, I joined the iPhone world.

Hubby and I have been using the LA subway system more and more. I have to admit, I get a little scared since I'm more of a small town girl, but I'm getting used to it. We usually take the Metro from Ontario to DTLA for Dodger games and then take the free Dodger shuttle which takes you straight to the entrance. And I love how it picks you up so no fussing with parking. I wish they had that to the Staples center.

what a great date and weekend! i just went to a trampoline place for the first time and acted like a 13 year old. except my true age came through when after only 30 MINUTES i was tired and hot and sweaty. surprised i didn't break a hip. sheesh.

Leeann @ Join the Gossip said...

Haha I just recently rode the subway to Staples too for a Kings game, though. I've lived here for four years and this was the first time.

So glad we were able to meet up. Next time let's not wait so long in between :)
