I thought it was time to finally retire my red spray-painted pinecones that have been my centerpiece on my dining room table since Christmas. I decided it was time to bring more green into my house, green in the form of succulents. Why succulents, because I am less likely to kill them and they don't need a ton of care and watering.
Succulents are a good choice for a centerpiece they are a good height on a dining room table, you don't have to strain your necklace to look at the person on the other side of the table. You can look them straight in the eye and have a great conversation over dinner because that is what really matters right, good food, great company and wonderful conversation. Who needs TV when you have those three life essentials?
So my simple project, a little pottery, a little paint, a little succulent and a little dirt.
All you need for a centerpiece that doesn't need a lot of water and a lot of care, my type of plant.
Leave the pots they way they are or paint them with stripes, chevrons, polka dots, whatever your little heart desires.

You are the second person as of late to inspire me to ge some plants! Your little pots look darling:)
I have the reddish pinkish one (forgot the name) and it just won't grow. It's puny! Makes me sad because the others I have are doing well. I have a fuzzy one (sometimes called panda plant) and a finger jade.
Perfect transition into the spring/summer time!!! I can have pinecones in my house all year round though... they're just so cute and you can totes dress em up or down!
We just recently got some plants for our apartment. I have to keep them on the high shelf though away from the dogs :)

Love these. I think even I could keep them alive!
Total fan of succulents. I think I could manage to keep them alive, too. Maybe a project for the weekend!?
I loooove succulents and those make an amazing centerpiece! I have actually killed 2 of my small succulent gardens. I just can't have any type of plant!
