Dolphin and Whale "Sea"-ing Adventure

*thank you all for your sweet comments or sharing of your experience on yesterday's post. it means a lot to me that each of you shared, the openness and honesty you shared is something I don't like lightly
.
Last Saturday, Sean and I met up with our friends, Stephanie and Jon for 2.5 hours of dolphin and whale watching. A certificate for a 2 for 1 deal came in handy and the urgency of the expiration date on the certificate prompted us to finally go whale watching. It was a gorgeous day, it could not have been more picture perfect. Calm winds, beautiful blue skies and great company, our day was set. The ocean did not disappoint us either, we ended up seeing 2 types of dolphins and a grey whale momma and her baby. Don't take my word for the gorgeous day we had, I'll let the photos speak for themselves!
Literally we were that close to the dolphins!

The blow is the grey whale mamma and based on the size of the baby, the captain of the boat suspected the baby was born near Monterey Peninsula and we were south at Dana Point.

Wish me luck for my half marathon I am doing this Sunday. It is the Tinkerbell Half at Disneyland and I was given 13 days notice that I was running it, so here goes anything, everything and nothing :-)

You can totally do it! Lots of luck on the marathon.

Isn't it soo fun to go look for things in the ocean? I have always wanted to go swimming with dolphins and heard only good things about it .

Have a wonderful weekend.

This sounds like so much fun. I haven't been whale watching since I was in elementary school and I definitely want to go again.

Beautiful pictures of the dolphins and whales! It is so relaxing being out on a boat and watching those amazing animals. I went on a whale watch for my bachelorette party and loved it. Good luck at the Tinkerbell 1/2 Marathon; you will do great!

How gorgeous! I can't believe you were that close. The only time I have ever seen a dolphin was one time at a beach. I could see a few fins out in the water but I wasn't 100% sure they were dolphins. Could of been sharks!

Those are such beautiful pictures! I am in love with dolphins. Swimming with them is definitely on my bucket list! My boyfriend worked with dolphins when he was in florida. He also worked on the set of Dolphin Tale because he worked with Winter! I told him he is taking me somewhere to swim with dolphins soon! Lol! :) Thanks for sharing the cute pics!!

Love your photos! I can't believe you were able to get that close to the dolphins -- and there were so many! We're moving to FL next month and I SO plan on swimming with dolphins at some point. :)

Did you get a groupon for this?
You saw so many dolphins! I love watching them swim next to the boat.
SO cool that you saw a momma and baby whale! That's a lucky day of dolphin/whale watching if you ask me!
