30 Days...

For the next 30 days, Sean and I are taking on a challenge. No it isn't a weight loss challenge, nor it is a 30 day juice loss. In fact it has nothing to do with exercise or food. It has to do with prayer. Sean texted me the other day asking if I would be willing to participate in a 30 minutes for 30 days prayer challenge. There is a lot you can do in 30 days, you can make the commitment to do run further, you can commit to eat better, you can commit to be a better wife or girlfriend, you can commit to read more.

There is a lot you can do in 30 days, what makes the difference is if you are committed to sticking to doing it for 30 days straight. I can tell you the first 21 days will be a bit challenging but studies prove that a routine will become a habit after 21 days. Did you know that, if you want something to become a habit you have to do it for 21 days straight.

Starting today, Sean and I are taking the 30/30 vision to pray continuously.

Does anyone want to join us? I guarantee great things will be the result. Also, I ask any of you to hold me accountable and ask me how I am doing in this challenge.

What a great challenge! I love this and I think this is something that my fiance and I should definitely incorporate into our lives as well. I'm glad that you share your faith with us! :)

That is a fantastic idea Meg! Thanks for sharing. Oh, and I picked up the Proverbs book.

Love this! I started my prayer journal the 1st of January, and I have enjoyed it so much. Just sitting, writing and talking to God is one of my favorite parts of that day!

I love this idea Meg! I need this challenge in my life too. And I need to know about this Proverbs book that Ms. Simply LKJ is talking about because I love me some Proverbs.

I am not religious but I hope you are able to reach your goal and that it's an enjoyable experience! I have heard that about 21 days being how long it takes to form a new habit and it's absolutely true! Now, if only I could apply it to my exercise routine...

What an amazing challenge. I am also a religious person and I have made the goal this year to make sure I get out of bed and pray on my knees rather that in the comfort of my bed. It's made me feel more respect for the Lord when I pray. I hope you guys meet your goal. Prayer does change lives.

Great challenge! I'm hoping to do something like this later this year. For now I think I need to refocus and I'm actually doing the KLove 30 day Christian music challenge. I feel like it's exactly what I need right now. Totally going to work my way to this challenge as time goes on - but I think I need my husband to do it with me for accountability. I love when we really focus on praying together especially so I want to make more time for that.

Awesome thing to take on!!! I did a similar challenge two years ago. To read a chapter in the Bible everyday. I believe the 21 day thing. I've been reading a chapter every single day for a little over 2 years now. My goal is to read the whole Bible. Good luck with your challenge!!!

Meg, this is so awesome that it's something that you and Sean will be doing together. I'm very excited to hear a recap after 30 days, to hear what positive effects this had for you. :) I know most prayers take longer than 30 days to be answered, but I'm still excited to see what awesome things come your way in that short time. Thanks for being an inspiration!!

What a worth-while challenge. Prayer is so very vital for each person and how wonderful that you are doing it together with your husband. My boyfriend and I make it a point to always pray together every night, whether it is over the phone or as he is dropping me off at my apartment. It has made all the difference in our relationship and is something I am so grateful for =)

This is a beautiful challenge, Meg and one that actually means something in the scheme of life. This is the best kind of challenge and how wonderful to do it with your husband. I know it's said, families that pray together stay together. We need to challenge those around us and to encourage them, so thanks for doing just that!!!

this is really cool! - i'm doing the Whole30 - and i agree after awhile it does just become routine - something i think that can last LONG term - i pray my "own" way every night - i have still YET to read the bible from cover to cover ..

I love this! My Pastor always said that you are as close to God as you want to be and by challenging yourselves, you are making the decision to go deeper with God - He will honor that, I just know it!
