Merry Christmas!

Today is Christmas Day, the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Today marks the beginning of life of the man who would later be the Savior of the world, the King that rose from death, the Almighty who would be the sacrifice so each and everyone of us would be able to spend eternity in heaven with Jesus and God.
At the time, the world didn't understand how he would be the conquering King. The Savior was born in a manger amongst the animals, he was not born into royalty with riches around him but in a lowly place. He was born into a carpenter family, that was his father's trade and he was expected to learn it and take on his father's workshop. He was born of a virgin mother, because he had to, to be different, to not have the capability of sinning.
Today marks the beginning of a life that would later be innocently ended through a horrible, painful and horrific death but would give each and everyone the opportunity to have a personal relationship with God.

Why was this special baby born? 1 John 3:8 tells us, "Everyone who commits sin is a child of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God was revealed for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil."

Today marks the birth of the most wonderful human being there has ever been and will ever be and if it wasn't for the birth of this baby, life would not be worth living.
Celebrate today the birth of a baby who would rise up and conquer sin and death and celebrate the birth of a baby whose ministry here on earth would be the most significant ever.
Today is not about presents, it is not about the Christmas meal, it is not about Santa but about celebrating and rejoicing that most wonderful baby ever born!

Luke 2:7 - And she gave birth to her firstborn and wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

Sean and I wish each and everyone of you a very merry Christmas, may you enjoy the time you spend with friends and family and remember the joy of the season and the birth of Jesus Christ!
