I just wanted to share with you today a few observations I have made lately about feelings. In general, I am a pretty stoic person, don't wear my emotions on my face but these are some thoughts or feelings I have had recently that I wanted to share with you all.
I just wanted to share with you today a few observations I have made lately about feelings. In general, I am a pretty stoic person, don't wear my emotions on my face but these are some thoughts or feelings I have had recently that I wanted to share with you all.
1. That feeling you get while with your husband you run into a former crush and you walk away feeling, wow why did I ever have a crush on him?
2. That feeling when talking to your grandma shortly after her husband, your grandpa, passed away and she says to you, it all went so fast. It all went so fast is the life she spent with him , married over 55 years, and the feeling you get that knowing that one lifetime isn't enough time to spend with your true love.
3. The feeling you get when your alarm clock goes off in the morning to wake up for a morning run. You really want to sleep in a bit more but you force yourself to get up and run. The feeling you get when you get back from your run and you say to yourself, yes I did it and I didn't allow myself to be lazy this morning.
4. That unfortunate feeling you get when you realize a friend was there for only a season of your life and not longer than you were thinking.
5. The feeling you get when you are going to eat bbq and you are really really excite because you love bbq and could live off of pulled pork sandwiches, brisket and beef ribs. Sean and I went out to Lucille's Smokehouse a few weeks ago and I was so giddy. I am all about the tomato-based bbq sauce, no vinegar based for this girl, thank you very much.Oh did I ever mention that I went vegetarian at one point in my life?
And just because I wanted to show you a few photos of my dahlias that I planted last year, thank goodness for annuals. Dahlias have a special place in my heart because they were used in our reception centerpieces.

That's all for today, just a simple post.

#4 hits home with me right now. I hate it and it's so, so devastating.
beautiful flowers. I've been vegetarian for about 2 months and the only thing I really miss is BBQ!! particularly my dads brisket :)
Really relating with #2 and #4 right now girl! Thanks for sharing your insights. And your flowers are looking great!
got chills thinking about #2
Oh wow, I love your flowers! So pretty! I am trying to grow some peppers and basil at the moment. :)
#1... YUP! And #2 is so true.
Loving these feelings. I need to work on #3. I get lazy far to often! And our flowers are so pretty - come plant some at my house please!

Goodness, do I know the feeling of #3! When that alarm clock goes off at 5:15am, the ONLY thing that gets me going is knowing I'll get to eat more food during the day if I get my early run in! ;o)
Eeek, I have yet to run into any ex's (probably b/c we've never lived in the same city as them) but I'm pretty sure I'd freak out a bit if I did.
Your flowers are beautiful!!!
#2 is so sweet. Definitely something to consider and remind us to be present with our loved ones now.
love this post. I can totally relate to the one about running into an old crush...I always feel so thankful I ended up with David. "Whew! Dodged that bullet!"
Aw #2... it's so true, it goes by so fast. Savor each moment! :)

totally agree with #1!!! How was I ever attracted to these dudes?!
#2 choked me up. A lifetime is never long enough with a true love.
I think the same thing you do with #1 - what was I ever thinking!!!??? UGH!

#2 and #4? yeah. hit me right in the gut. so true.
I know pretty much all of those feelings Meg. The story of your Grandma melts my heart. Life is short, and it feels like it goes by so much faster as we get older.
What a great post! And yes, time in general goes by waaaay too fast!!
what a good idea for the post! i can relate to many of those!
This may seem simple to you, but I thought it was actually pretty insightful :)
Great post, sometimes life is just kinda like that. And on losing friends.. I know.
Haha...it sure is funny to see how your taste changes in crushes. I love bbq! Thanks so much for entering the giveaway!

That thought from your Grandma is just too sweet (and sad). How lucky we are to spend our lives with someone we love. It is a good reminder to soak up every second. Thanks for sharing these, Meg!
What a nice post thank you for letting us in a little bit!!
Beautiful flowers, being the person I am - I think you mean perennials as those are ones that come back every year.

BBQ is pretty amazing! You'd like Western NC style BBQ it's completely tomato based.
#1? TOTALLY know that feeling. That happened to Sam and I a few days before we got married and it was SO uncomfortable. All I wanted to do was get out of there..that I didn't even introduce Sam to the idiot.
#2..55 years. Wow.
#3. I wish I could say that I'm the person who gets up and exercises..BUT I'm the girl who presses snooze every single morning. #1 laziest person ever..that would be me ;)
