Tired...

Friday is a necessary part of my life as I am sure it is all part of yours. You can't help it, Friday just always has to make its appearance and I love the routine of Friday, knowing it will always come, knowing it will always kick start my two days off from work. It will kickstart my chance to do what I want, how I want to fill my time during my day.

I have to admit something to everyone. I am tired... I am a bit tired of the daily grind, of the having to find a job because in 10 months I will be out of my job. I am tired of feeling like I have to keep up this little blog, I love it, I love connecting with you all, I love all the wonderful posts for the hometown series, but I feel just kinda neutral lately. I used to stress out if I didn't have a post up by a certain time each day, now frankly I look at a new post and my mind is blank. I can't bring myself to type out a post sometimes.

If any of you have noticed the quality of writing has decreased this might be why.
It may be detrimental to expose myself and my feelings about my blog, some may choose to unfollow, which is fine, blogging shouldn't be about how many followers you have or how many comments you receive each day. It should be what is on your heart and lately my heart is just neutral.

I had a post all ready for today about the Nordstrom's Cosmetic Trend show I went to last Saturday with two friends, but couldn't bring myself to write the post for some reason.
I feel tired like this photo below with Kip when he was still a puppy.

I feel tired and I'm not sure what to do about it...

p.s. the highlight of my weekend is getting to attend the Shine Project's beach clean-up and meet the oh-so fabulous Stesha of Classic and Bubbly! can.not.wait

Don't feel bad about being tired! Don't feel bad about not posting either. Take a blog break. Do some things that you want to do, on purpose. :)

I love that you are so honest with all of us. I think it's perfectly okay to feel neutral sometimes (I even called it wishy-washy on my blog). I love reading your sweet blog, and I will definitely be sticking around, and I will be sure to keep you on my heart and in my prayers.

Awww, I completely understand, Meg!!! I go through that feeling with my blog every few months. I get tired of writing and just feel sooo MEH. Get some rest! I will always be a follower! Thinking of you and hoping things start to look up soon <3

I'm sorry :( I wish I could give you a real life hug if I were closer by. Feeling tired like that is the worst. Honestly, when I feel tired like that I just unplug from everyone and everything. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help! I'm here for you! This is only a phase, and I promise you'll get un-tired soon!

Sorry you are feeling that way, but I can relate. Lately, I just can't seem to get motivated. I used to love cleaning, decorating, diying...but lately...I am just plain tired of it all. This momma needs a break, so I get where you are coming from. Sometimes a little break in the routine is what is needed.

Rest! There is nothing wrong with a blog break! I (and I bet all of your followers) will still be here when you get back! We all love your blog!

I feel ya. I had that a couple of weeks ago and really, the feelings are still lingering, just not as intense as they were. Taking a break from blogging really helped me a lot. And having some time last week with my friends, really recharged my batteries. Not that I've come back to blogging in a wild-frenzy, but I feel more relaxed about it. Like if I don't want to blog, I don't. I'd rather my content but good and my heart be in it, than churning out mediocre, boring posts. So relax, give yourself a break, and don't worry about the blog. People who enjoy reading it, will stick around. The ones that don't, well, who really cares about them anyway. ;)

HAVE A FABULOUS WEEKEND!

girl, do not even worry about keeping up your blog! Everyone goes through it. I used to worry about updating my blog every day, but now, I just do it when I want, not because I feel like i have to! it's your blog, you are in control of it! :) It shouldn't be a chore. We'll all be here waiting for your posts when you're ready to post one!

I'm sorry you've been feeling so stressed and tired lately. Having the pressure of trying to find a job in a certain time period I'm sure can definitely take a toll on you. Just keep your chin up. You'll find something when you're supposed to :) I've been feeling the same way about blogging lately. Honestly, I think a lot of bloggers are. If you look around, there isn't much going on in blogland and posts/comments have been lacking. I think it's good to take a break and breathe for a bit. You'll come back to it when you're ready. :) I hope you feel better pretty girl!

have a great weekend! xoxo
(ps- i'm so jealous you get to meet stesha! I love her blog!)

I definitely know and understand what you are feeling! I haven't blogged in 2 weeks! Real life stress has kept me preoccupied and every time I open a new blog post, I feel lost. Don't feel bad! Take all the time you need to relax and rejuvenate!! You'll come back better than ever :)

Meg I'm so sorry that things are tough for you right now. It's so tough going through the grind stages. I feel at some point in life we all get there, and it's tough. But I would just keep banking on your unbelievable faith and know that God will provide a sign for you. Take a rest, relax, and know that everyone here supports you! I know that things will look up for you!

I think we all go through that...or at least I have a few times in the last 4+ years of blogging. It'll come back :) And I know you'll find a job just as amazing as you are!!

Oh Meg I hear you loud and clear. I've come to realize blogging means different things to different people. For some they are trying to jump start a career, others want to network, some just want to vent or post things that are inspiring to them.

I blog my life, journaling my thoughts and what we do as a family as well as parts of my past. I hope I never stop because I want my kids to know how much I've always loved them.

Everyone needs to recharge. Take a blog break. Everyone needs one.

i know i feel like that about things in my life, and sometimes especially my blog, sometimes. i think it's okay to take a little break, regroup and come back inspired.

Meg, I feel the same way. Sometimes I just don't post and I notice my comments going down after I miss a few posts but I guess I can't care about that, I blog because I want to and for no one else!

I love you and your blog whenever you decide to show up. It is YOUR blog...blog when you feel inspired not because you feel like you have to! Get some rest this weekend girl!

Sarah said...

Good for you for being honest! This is YOUR blog and you can write or not write whenever you want! You are a great blogger and I know there are many people that will stand by you regardless! If you need a break, take a break!

Love your openness and honesty, Meg! I agree with you completely, it should be about followers...your blog should be YOUR blog and express anything and everything you wish to express, including our feelings! I often find those to be the most refreshing posts! Hope you get a little more energy soon and enjoy your weekend! Sending extra smiles your way! :)

I'm feeling the same lately - this next week I have about a billion things due for both work and university and it's really starting to get to me.

The best thing to do for tiredness is to just take a week away from social media and do what you want in the evenings. After a week you'll feel fresh and realize that you miss your blog :)

Oh friend, I am so sorry you are feeling this way! I absolutely have been through those phases in my life. I think our regular lives can really take a toll on us sometimes and blogging should be a fun hobby, not an additional stress! Take care of yourself---spend time with your husband, friends, eat some good food. :) Your blog will be here when you get back. :)

I'm kind of feeling the same way. With the warm weather we've been having I just want to be outside and not blogging!

I completely understand. Sometimes it helps to step back and just take things day by day. Much love to you!

Anyone worthy of your sweet words, will always follow. If you're tired, take a break! I think it's good to detox from things from time to time. I think blogging should be fun and enjoyable; not another chore or job. Do what you need to do and write when you feel like writing. The beauty of the blog world, is that there really are no rules! Make them up as you go. Get some sleep and make sure you're eating enough veggies and vitamins! The important ones will always be waiting here for you when you return. Live first. Blog second. Hope your week goes smoothly!! {Ps. your OOTD posts are always a hit hehe}

i have only been blogging a couple months and I can relate! I look at all these blogs that put up wonderful posts everyday and wonder how they do it (btw...I have always enjoyed your blog) and I have also been discouraged that is seems many blogs are competing in some kind of popularity contest to get the most number of followers. I have promised myself I will blog about what I feel led to blog about, nothing more and nothing less. I think you have a wonderful blog that covers so much content I can relate to, but if you feel like you need a break, don't feel guilty! Your followers will continue to look forward to your new posts!
