Hometown Series - Rochelle of Life, Love and in Between

Another hometown series post! I hope y'all aren't getting tired of them, I just have a love of traveling and learning about the different places of our great country and the amazing places bloggers have in their hometowns. Today we are staying again in Texas. Last week we were in Bryan, Texas and now we are heading to San Antonio. Rochelle will be sharing with you all, so take it away Rochelle!

Howdy Henning Love readers!

My  name is Rochelle, and I blog over at Life, Love and in Between. I haven't blogged in a while, due to Geek Squad having my laptop for two weeks but I promise I will get back at it again as soon as I get it back. Well, lets get started shall we?

I'm currently living in Houston, but I grew up in good ol' San Antonio.
If you were to come visit me in San Antonio, we would have to start the day off with some breakfast. I Love Mexican food, and there is a really good family owned taco house. (It is seriously a small little hole in the wall and is always packed with customers, sorry I couldn't find a picture!) We could eat some taco's and get the day started.

After breakfast, we could head Downtown and walk the Riverwalk. There are many different restaurants we can stop by and have a margarita or two. We will then go for a ride on the barge and take a tour of downtown San Antonio. This will be a perfect time to take out your camera and snap a few shots.

Once we are done taking a couple pictures from the barge, we can then walk down to The Alamo. We can go for a tour inside and you will be able to soak up some history while we are in there.

Since you are in San Antonio, you will have to go visit Market Square. Depending on the time of year, around April San Antonio throws a big event that is about a week long known as Fiesta. They close streets down, and vendors are selling merchandise, food, etc. There is also a day parade and a night parade known as the Fiesta Flambeau that we can go to as well if you visit in April. If you like Oysters, we can go to the Fiesta cook off and have some drinks, listen to music, and eat oysters.

If you are still able to stay awake and party we can go walk around NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio) during Fiesta. You can walk around and eat different types of food from around the world and of course have a drink or two. You are in San Antonio, after all.

Tired of Mexican food yet? I hope not, we still have to visit Mi Tierra restaurant and bakery. They have a huge, I mean HUGE selection of pastries you can choose from and everything is so delicious.

If the weather is nice and warm we can head to Fiesta Texas and get on some rides, and watch a few shows. It is a great place for family, especially the kiddos.

We can also head back downtown at night at go up the Tower of Americas. It looks so beautiful at night, and you can even capture some great pictures of here as well.

Are you tired yet? I hope not, there is so much you can do in San Antonio. I promise you we will stay busy doing the touristy stuff when your here.

Are you booking your flight to Texas in April? I hope you are, come visit during Fiesta time and let me know you are coming!

So fun! A former neighbor of mine just moved to Texas with her young family, and I've been itching to check it out. I'm so un-adventurous when it comes to our own States! Thanks for the insight Rochelle!
