Twas 5 Nights Before Christmas - Alexa of The Short and Sweet of It

Hey ladies,
On Friday I mentioned I had a few surprises up here on the blog this weekend and today is one of the surprises!! The lovely Alexa of The Short and the Sweet of It and I are blog swapping today and we are calling it 'Twas 5 Nights Before Christmas! We are talking about anything Christmas related, decorations, traditions, etc. So happy to have my friend here today for your reading pleasure then be sure to go over and check out my post on her blog.
Take it away Alexa!

Hello darling readers of Henning Love. I'm Alexa (blogger at The Short and the Sweet of It) and I am so excited to be over at Meg's little corner of the blog world sharing my experiences on this fifth night before Christmas.

1. My feet live in these comfy cozy moccasins this time of year (yes even in San Diego..it's chilly,

     okay)?

2. I am wrapping presents like crazy. I am one of those people that enjoys wrapping gifts, you know

silver, sparkle and curly bows....they just look so delightful under the tree, don't you think?

3. Matt and I are watching the whole Lord of the Rings series for probably the 55th time. Actually

it's more of a Christmas tradition. We spent our first Christmas away from friends and family in

2004. We had just moved to New Zealand, had a big, rambling Victorian flat on a hill and spent

Christmas Eve with a bunch of little hobbits. (We're both kind of nerdy at heart), so of course

we had to visit all of the Lord of the Rings film locations in New Zealand. There was no better

place to film that story, in my opinion.

4. We've gotten so many lovely Christmas cards in the mail. One of my favorites was my friend's

little family. They were all dressed up in ugly sweaters. Even 1 1/2 year old Skye and poor

Winston the Cat, who looks like he might disown them for this one. Seriously awesome.

5. I was so excited to finally bake some sugar cookies. With a ten month old boarding in the house

it's hard to get anything holiday-ish done, but there is seriously nothing like the smell of cookies

baking on a cold winter day!

6. Goofing off with two of my favorite people ever. Course we do this year-round, but it's always

    fun!
Thanks for taking the time to catch up with me. I can't believe there are only 5 more sleeps till Christmas!

And be sure to stop by The Short and the Sweet of It to check out Meg's post! xo

Isn't her family just darling? Thanks for swapping today Alexa, I have a lot of fun! 5 nights sleeps until Christmas, count 'em 5!

Yay, I love Christmas cards. The other day we got so excited that we had a stack until we found out they were addressed to the people who lived at our condo previously.. :(
