Candy Corn Cupcakes!

This will be my Halloween treat for you all since it is coming up shortly, Monday in fact. Do you have your costume all ready to go? Any last minute preparations? How about buying candy for the little kiddies who will come knock on your door?
I saw these cupcakes and thought they were adorable, had to make them for my bible study tomorrow and share them with you all. They are candy corn cupcakes.
First, gather your ingredients. You need 1 box of white cake mix, 2 eggs, 1 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup milk, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, yellow and orange food dye. You will not follow the ingredients on the back of the box. Preheat your own to 350 degrees and line your cupcake pan with liners.

For the buttercream, you need 1 cup butter, 4 cups powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream.

Combine all the ingredients in your mixing bowl and mix it until thoroughly incorporated. Once the batter is completely mixed, divide the batter between two bowls.

In one bowl, add a few drops of orange dye, and in the other bowl, add the yellow dye.

Fill the paper liners with about 1/2 tablespoons of the orange colored batter. Pop the cupcake tin in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to harden the layer slightly. Then fill the rest of the cupcake liner with your yellow-colored cupcake batter. Bake the cupcakes accordingly to the directions, approximately 15-18 minutes. Pull the cupcakes out of the oven, allow them to cool. Then make your buttercream frosting, which is the white layer of the candy corns.

First, cream the butter until it is fluffy.

Then add the powdered sugar and cream these two ingredients together. Add the vanilla and the whipping cream.

Blend all these ingredients together very well and beat until fluffy. Then decorate the top of your cupcakes with the frosting and top with an actual candy, then eat and enjoy!

Can I come over for Bible Study? Seriously you make the best treats! What study are you doing? Is it couples or singles? Have you ever done with your husband? That's something I'd like to get into with Rob. Anyways, this looks so delicious and you are so creative!!!
