Vacation Post - Outfits

Before I begin this post, I am a bit of mixed emotions today for an event that happened a year ago today. I haven't mentioned what my husband does for work, he is an assistant coach for a university's cross country and track team. A year ago, the team was driving up to their high altitude training camp traveling in 3 vans. The team was almost at the camp when one of the vans was involved in a deadly crash with another car.
Here I was three weeks newly married and if my husband wasn't a few second behind the 2nd van, he could have been the one involved in the accident. My husband's university lost their cheerleading coach, and there was very serious injuries involving the athletes. Here is a link to an article about the accident, I'll let it speak for the details about it, I'd rather not get into it. http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-cal-baptist-fatal-crash,0,78579.story
I am thankful to God that my husband wasn't hurt, but my heart hurts for the family that lost a wife and mother. As a result, things for the first year of marriage were a little bit more tense and scary because I associated the accident with my husband's job and resented him being gone a lot more than I cared for. Just reflecting today a bit... and thankful that my husband is with me... sorry there is no real clear point to this opening it is just on my mind...

As you can see today's category is fashion, I took photos of all (well, most) of the outfits I wore on the cruise. Honestly this was something I was really excited about prior to the cruise. Of course I was looking forward to the islands but thanks to my wonderful Sean I was stocked up with plenty plenty of cute and adorable outfits.  Thank you honey!
Ready to go out and about St. Kitts, dress from Forever 21

St. Thomas here we come! White shorts from Old Navy, top from Forever 21, sandals from Old Navy

Dinner one evening, dress from Forever 21, I call it my firework dress

Curacao, last day on an island, skirt from Ann Taylor Loft, top from Ann Taylor Loft, bag from Old Navy

Bracelets I wore, pink bracelets were a gift, flower bracelet from Cost Plus World Market
White shorts from Old Navy, top from Nordstroms

Aruba, Jamaica, oh I wanna take ya...
Unfortunately I missed a few outfits, sorry about that and two were a really cute maxi dresses as well. I preferred to wear the maxi dresses when we were spending all day at seas rather than trying to walk around in 90 plus degree weather with humidity.

Very cute outfits!

Thank you for sharing what is on your mind this morning, I am glad your husband was safe. The great thing about blogs is you can share your thoughts. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Sometimes events like that have a much stronger hold on us and our relationships than we realize. At least you're able to see how it's affected you and reason with it! Still so sad :(

Love the outfits - looks like you packed very well and were able to maximize the things you brought. I pray I can do the same when I go to Europe. I don't know how I can fit 2 weeks worth of clothes in ONE bag.

I looooooove the firework dress!! And I'm so sorry about the accident last year. It's awful. I guess the only good that can come out of an event like that is that you can appreciate what you have even more.

Oh my gosh, that is such a scary and tragic event!! I am so sorry for their loss as well. I am very happy your husband wasn't injured though. We can never guess why these things happen, you know? My thoughts will be them today. :)

I am in LOVE with that cute hat you are wearing as well as the white top, blue skirt and orange bag!! by far, most fav!!

And in response to your post on my blog, we LOVED soul surfer!! It was refreshing to watch a movie without having to fast forward through "bad" scenes if you know what I mean! Hope you are having a fabulous day, and I look forward to following your blog!

I just want to say a big thank you to you all for your care and concern. And remember to give your loved ones an extra hug today and if there is anything you need to tell them don't wait any longer just say it because you just never know... that is the lesson I learned through the whole experience :-)
