I'm changing things up a bit this week for Tuesday Treats. I did something but will finish it tonight so you can all be tempted tomorrow ;-) By the way Sean and his team made it safely to their training camp this week and I had a great night with my friend Laura laughing all two hours long at the Bachelor Pad. Were those veins popping out of Melissa's head and neck when she was getting pissed at Blake? And Vienna looked like she was going to faint when Chris announced the switch-up! Plus I loved Chris's honesty telling Vienna there are two open doors for her to leave, bam! Oh I love this show it just makes me laugh and allows me some time of mindless entertainment.
Wow is my post title super cheesy. Sorry all. You have to know in my household ice cream is a big deal. We have at least three different flavors in our freezer and it isn't just chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Although I am a big chocolate person, I do not like chocolate ice cream, call me weird if you want :-) Every night around 9pm, when I am usually upstairs on the computer or watching TV, I hear my Sean tiptoe downstairs to get a bowl of ice cream, without fail that is a nightly routine for him in our household.

So when I was asked by Moms Central Consulting if I wanted to participate in their Starbucks ice cream review, I couldn't respond quick enough!
Here was the deal, I received two coupons for two free pints of Starbucks ice cream. Have any of you tried it before? I have known about Starbucks ice cream for several years, and their java chip is always excellent. Before this review that was the only flavor I had ever tried. Check out all their wonderful flavors here

The two flavors I selected to review of course along with my trusty taste tester, my wonderful husband Sean, was caramel macchiato, a coffee ice cream and vanilla bean frappuccino, a coffee-free ice cream. We wanted to try one of each variety.
First we tried the caramel macchiato.
I have to say this really does taste like the drink if you order the drink hot. I used to order this drink all the time so I was pretty familiar with the flavor. I loved the coffee flavor of this ice cream although it can be a little too strong at times if you get a spoonful of just the coffee ice cream. When you open up the ice cream you can tell because of the two colors which side is more coffee and which side is the milk portion of the drink. The ice cream was really smooth and creamy. The caramel was a perfect accompaniment to the ice cream and very silky too, I'm sure they used the caramel in the ice cream that Starbucks puts on their drinks. My husband said during some spoonful he wishes there was more caramel overall in the ice cream however.
On to the vanilla bean frappuccino,
which my husband loved more than the caramel macchiato but I didn't like this flavor as much. The ice cream does have a strong vanilla presence and I loved the vanilla bean specks in the ice cream, to me that is a sign that it is true vanilla. My husband said the ice cream tastes like the drink but I have never ordered it so I will take his word! We both agreed that there was a nice long vanilla aftertaste. The ice cream is very creamy and dense, meaning lots of cream and not a lot of air when it is made, which we both enjoyed.
Overall we enjoyed both ice creams, my personal preference was the caramel macchiato while my husband's was the vanilla bean frappuccino. I think after this review, I will definitely recommend Starbuck's ice cream flavors other than the standard java chip although there is nothing wrong with sticking to what you love, but remember variety is the spice of life so pick a new flavor of ice cream next time you go to the store!
Disclosure: I was contacted by Moms Central Consulting (http://www.momcentral.com/mcc) and “I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Starbucks and received coupons and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.”

I'm a big fan of coffee ice cream with caramel in general so I'll have to give the caramel macchiato a try! Oddly enough, I don't like coffee as a drink but as an ice cream it is one of my favorite flavors...Kind of the opposite of your chocolate/chocolate ice cream preference!
I love coffee ice cream but have never tried Starbucks' flavors! I think I'm going to have to give it a try though! xoxo

Ice cream is a big deal around here too! Actually we are more frozen yogurt fanatics but I still love a nice bowl of ice cream :) I have never tried the Starbucks flavors though! They look yummy!

I love ice cream too! I grew up eating it every night LOL! I have never tried the Starbucks ice cream, but I love their coffe so I'm sure it is awesome. :)
I'm the same way with chocolate ice cream!! The only chocolate ice cream I enjoy is Ben & Jerry's Phish Food but other than that I don't like it! Good review on the ice creams! I'll have the try the caramel macchiato one!

I love Starbucks ice cream! I love the Java Chip, but my absolute favorite was the Peppermint Mocha ice cream! They said it was only available at Christmastime but I found it even in March/April.
