*how to master your kitchen series will be back next thursday!
I got a comment the other day that I felt was important enough to address in a blog post. The comment was about how in my background photos, there are clothes lying around and electric cords in the carpet in my bedroom and the commenter said I view you as so put together {almost}perfect and to see this the clothes gives me relief.

Friends, I am not perfect, I am just being me.
My photos do include dirty clothes laying around or my dogs butts facing the camera but that I am just being me.
I may not feel like getting dressed some days or dressed enough to take photos just so I can have photos to put up on this blog but I am just being me.
Some days I don't feel like I can compete with other big bloggers or have the style or fashion sense like they do but I have bills that have to be paid first before I can spend a lot of money on clothes, shoes, accessories and make-up and I am just being me.
Some trends I don't want to wear because I don't like them and I don't want to buy items so I can be trendy. Items like peplum or the bubble necklace but I am just being me.
There are days where I just want to go back to bed, pull the sheets over my head and wish that tomorrow was already here because I was feeling crappy that day but I am just being me.
There are certain emotions or activities that are hard to photograph that are apart of real life and honestly if I could I would post them on the blog or on instagram. Why? Real life is not perfect, real life is not always picking up the clothes on my bedroom floor just so I can take photos, and real life is I am just being me.
I am a simple type of person who sticks to blogging out what she knows and yes that may be posting about a mac and cheese recipe, not elaborate, I know but I am ok with that because I am just being me.

Don't you dare apologize for any of that! What you are experiencing and sharing with us is your LIFE! Yes, I leave my bed unmade every morning, and yes, I tend to always wear black.... BUT — that's what makes us, us! I love seeing your life on instagram... makes me seem normal. =) And just because we are bloggers doesn't mean that we have to blog about fashion, have a thousand giveaways a week or (gasp) even not blog for a day or two. You can only be you... the one God made perfect! And, I for one, love to read your blog!! Thanks for always being you, and being real!
Being real/true to you is the best part of blogging! I try hard to put myself across in my posts and I am drawn to bloggers that do the same. (you're one of them!)
Love this post! I think the blog world likes to present these images that looks like they belong in a magazine and that everything is sunshine and rainbows. But we all know that's not real life!

Meg, that is why I love your blog and you! REAL. Real life, real drama, real feelings, real passions (you are a mean cook girlfriend). While pretty styled pictures are great to look at, most know that is not reality. And any true blogger would tell you..."you should have seen what was just outside of that pretty camera shot!"
love this!
YESSS!
Bloggers are people too, not just perfect smiling faces on a computer screen! That's what makes me love the blogging community so much!

LOVE! Just like I said before! This is why I love your blog so much! You are a sunshiney breath of fresh air! I hope no one makes you feel bad about being YOU!
So well said Meg. None of us are perfect. I mean if everyone could see what my closet looked like...haha. Your blog reflects who you are and that's why you have so many fabulous followers!
Heck yeah, Meg! I feel that way too! All of the time! Some days I am inspired by picture-perfect bloggers and their homes and some days I am wondering how the heck they do it all! I posted my office makeover plan weeks ago and I am still saving up money to buy the darn desk!
Amen, Meg! So many bloggers try to create a perfect image of themselves that is just not realistic. No one is perfect, so just keep right on being you!
And this is why I relate to you! I couldn't agree more with this statement- "Some days I don't feel like I can compete with other big bloggers or have the style or fashion sense like they do but I have bills that have to be paid first before I can spend a lot of money on clothes, shoes, accessories and make-up and I am just being me." Being yourself and writing from what you know makes your blog a success! Life isn't perfect, that's what makes it beautiful.
You should be you! Your readers love you for it. :)
Happy almost-weekend, doll.

I'm pretty new here but I think your blog is just perfect- keep being you & stay real! I will be reading~
always, koru kate
Yup,yup & yup. I can always tell when someone isn't being honest (must be that whole mom intuition :) My favorite blogs are those that are just so purely real and honest. I always learn something from them.
This is a fantastic post! I often have to remind myself that being ME is good enough, as long as I am striving to be the best version of myself I can be. And I love that you aren't perfect; it makes you completely relatable and adorable and if you were perfect it would annoy me and I probably wouldn't enjoy your lovely blog so much. :-)
I agree, and I love how real you are. You talk about what you want, take pictures of what you want how you want it. No need to complete with those other blogs that seem perfect because under it all, no one is perfect.
There are always dog butts in my photos!
You've gotta be real, or I won't read it. hahaha. It's true though.
Hooray for this post and advocating authenticity! You got it girl and that's why so many people enjoy following along with you!
mac n cheese is my favorite:) You do an awesome job and being none perfect is what makes a blog more perfect, I think! Keep it up lady, your rockin' it!
thank you for being true to you! that is why I love your blog - because your NOT everyone else!
Thanks for stopping by my blog - really appreciate it!
And you just keep being you. In the words of Dr. Suess: "Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than you." :)
I find myself feeling like this lately too, especially the last bit of your post. How do these ladies work to make money, spend a ton of money, and look so fabulous doing it?
I think we all gotta take a step back sometimes, when all the other bloggers seem so perfect.
