The Fun Factor

Last weekend, Sean and I attended a marriage conference, called Refreshing Your Marriage. It was a Friday night, all day Saturday conference. Why did we attend a marriage conference? Because we can always learn how to improve our marriage. Like any marriage, we have our ups and downs. I hope that I don't ever portray on my blog that we have a perfect marriage or we don't have any problems, because like I said we are a normal couple that fight like any couple and then have sweet moments like any couple.
During one of the 6 sessions during the conference, the topic was having fun in marriage. We were asked by the speaker to gather into a group of 6 or 8 with people sitting around us and discuss how fun you as a couple have fun in your marriage. Listening to the other couples' ideas and sharing our own made me realize how much fun is already woven into our marriage. It wasn't realized out of comparison to the other marriages, the question just made me think and know that Sean and I fun is not lacking in our marriage.
The purpose of today's post is just to talk about fun in marriage or fun in a dating relationship. Fun is a key component to a great relationship. Life is hard, life is serious, life can be rough but fun can be the glue that help holds up the marriage in between those serious and tough times.

Some questions to think about as we head in our weekend whether you are single, in a dating relationship, engaged or married:
{1}determine what is the fun factor in your relationship (for those single, write what you would consider fun in a future relationship)
{2}what ways can you add more fun into your relationship.

How could I not have fun with a guy like this?

Just remember if things are a bit rough or if things are going great in your marriage or relationship, just have fun! It will do wonders between the two of you.
If you need some free or cheap dates that are definitely classified as fun, check out this post I wrote a few weeks back.
Now your turn, tell me how you have fun in your relationship, whether dating or married!

Sounds like a great marriage conference! Having fun is definitely important, and we do that by sharing fun activities we love, like trying new restaurants, wine tasting and traveling.

I love this! We do have a lot of fun in our marriage, and honestly it's most of the time just spent laughing. It's one of my favorite parts of the marriage! Happy Friday!

What a wonderful idea!! Looks like you two have no trouble in the FUN in your relationship though. Such funny pictures! My husband and I went for a weekend conference planned for engaged couples before getting married, and I think we both enjoyed it more than we expected. They offer similar weekend retreats for married couples as well, and I think one day we should definitely go back.

Great post...it's hard to have fun during spring semester because of work and matt coaching baseball but definitely try to have some fun on the weekends together

Andy and u said if there are opportunities to make our marriage better we would take them. It's so important to be working on it! We could definitely use a bit of fun...things have been a little stressful lately!

Great post! There are many things but two of my favorite things to do with my boyfriend to have fun is cooking and listening/talking about music! As we approach graduation and getting into the real world, we've been trying to new recipes and it's fun to just experiment with different dishes! Music has always been part of our relationship - we saw our absolute favorite band together last year and my smile was as wide as the Nile the whole time :)

That's wonderful! More people should do things like this. Couples often forget that even when you are married, you still have to work at your relationship.

This is a fabulous post! So often we get tied up in all of the things happening in our lives that we forget to have fun, so this is a great reminder. Love it!
