What the Heart Needs...

So in the midst of my work ending, our office closing in 1.5 weeks and still not being offered a job yet, there are just times when you need something and you don't realize it. Hanging out with Kasey last night was exactly what I was needing without realizing it, to have some girl time, shop a little bit, go completely nuts in the sweets shops, trying a macaroon for the first time and realizing how AWESOME they are. At the end of our hang-out time, I drove home feeling so encouraged and I didn't realize I needed that girl time. Both of our husbands are coaches and the first time we ever met up, we found out our husbands are in the same Masters program right now at the same university, due to finish up in the same semester. I have never met another coach's wife and it was so encouraging to know some of the feelings I have about being a coach's wife are felt by other coach's wives too.
We are already planning our next time to meet up.

Then this past weekend, Sean and I went up to SLO to hang out with his best friend and his wife who recently had a birthday and stayed with his parents.
Again, the time away, the time to hang out with friends and family, do a little wine testing and relax was refreshing. Kip and Kimbia enjoyed the huge backyard they got to run around in at my in-laws as well, plenty of space to catch a frisbee and Kip thoroughly enjoyed exploring every last inch of the backyard.

Just a few photos for your viewing pleasure of our weekend.
We went to Kelsey Winery and there was a flock of peacocks, is that the correct terminology for peacocks, a flock?
There had to have been at least 30 peacocks.

There was a beautiful persimmon tree.

Of course you had to have grapevines at a winery.

Have you ever experience not knowing you needed something until later?
Just a reminder that you have only today and tomorrow to enter my giveaway for a Datevitation coupon book.
Also all next week it is Christmas cookie week on my blog, 5 days, 5 different Christmas cookies!

So glad that you got so much out of meeting your friend. It's the best when you realize, I really needed that. Good luck with the job search, you'll find something I'm sure!

oh my friend... sounds like we're career hunting together!! I've been searching since late August... and I'm trying to stay as patient as I can. I receive spiritual readings via email every day, and lately they've been telling me stay optimistic and trust in His plan.

Don't miss the colors of the rainbow while you're chasing the pot of gold at the end of it. Keep talking to others b/c it makes the world of a difference, as you found out last night with your girlfrannnnd).

Keep your head up and keep applying.... even if you don't hear anything for awhile!

Sometimes you just need some "me" time to clear your mind. That can be anything that makes you happy, like spending time with family or friends, shopping, etc. Glad you were able to enjoy yourself!

So I hate birds but those guys are beautiful!! And I'm in the same boat with a job right now. We are moving across the country and I've got nothing lined up, faith is all that we can have in situations like this. And hard work! Good luck girl

So glad you found a good friend! When my job became part time last August I found a really nice permanent part time job with a temp agency. I'm sure you could find a full-time one that way! It's also really nice because I got to try out a few jobs to see if I'd like them. ;)

Sorry to hear that you are stuck in this transition phase at work. I know that girls night always helps me! I don't usually go out, but when they can get me out of the house, I definitely enjoy it.

Isn't it the best when some says "Me too?!" it's awesome to connect with someone in that way. Hoping your finding peace with the whole job situation...things will work out!

I'm sorry to hear you still haven't found a job... but everything will work out just the way its meant to work out for you guys! You just described my trip to Michigan this summer. It was exactly what my heart needed... and I had no idea that trip was going to be so refreshing and make my heart so happy. I'm glad you did some things that were just what you needed. (:
