Crockpot Apple Sauce

Hey everyone, crockpot applesauce rhymes, did you know that? Say it aloud to yourself! Ready, go! This is one of the easiest recipes you can ever make, I'm serious. All you need is a crock pot, apples, a little bit of brown sugar and cinnamon for taste and you let the apples cook down, mash them up a bit and then serve the applesauce. That is it! See, I told you it was the easiest recipe ever! I could end the blog post right now if I wanted too but I can't do that, THAT would be too easy.
Want to know what are some of the better apples to cook down into applesauce?
Golden delicious, gala, mutsu, braeburn, cameo, pink lady and honey crisp. Those are the top apples to turn into sauce and I just happen to use both gala and golden delicious before I looked up the list.
Let's make the applesauce. As I said it is an easy recipe, pull out your crock pot, some brown sugar, cinnamon and your apples.
I peeled, cored and cut my apples into slices and put them into the crock pot.

I sprinkled some brown sugar and cinnamon on top of the apples then I turned my crock pot  on.

You can turn your crock pot on high or low and you cook the apples until they are mushy and when mashed, the apple slices fall apart easily. At this point, you can either serve up your applesauce if you like it a bit or chunky or you can blend it slightly to smooth it out a bit.

For some cute packaging, I bought some mason jars from Walmart, fabric, twine and popsicle sticks.

And here you go!

That is all it takes for homemade applesauce! Now serve, eat and enjoy!

I've never though to use my crockpot for things other than dinner. Which is weird now that I think about it! I should try this out!

I can attest that this is delicious!! Although I put it in the giftbag with Jamie's outfit for Bennett.. and it kind of spilled all over. So he had applesauce flavored overalls. And I just got to eat thicker applesauce haha :) xoxoxoxox
