Hostess with the Mostess part quatre

Did you enter my SkincareRx $20 giveaway?  You have until July 11 to do so.
Ahh Monday, you always coming rolling around again just like clockwork, after Sunday is Monday, it never changes. I have enjoyed Mondays a bit more with the Hostess with the Mostess series because I like to entertain, I love to have people come to my house and have a great meal and just be surrounded by good people. God has definitely given me the gift of hospitality and I have loved sharing with you all.

In this series so far, there have been drinks, appetizers, and last week a Fourth of July edition. Today I will be discussing the theme for your party.
To help set the mood when you are hosting, it helps to have a particular theme in mind along with the place where the party is being held, whether at a country club, in your background or a park.
If you are going for an up-scale party, you might want to consider wine, cheese and fancy appetizers.

or

You could use a color or a combination of a few colors as the theme to your party.
Such as red, turquoise and white

Or purple

You could use just an initial as the theme for your party.

There are an unlimited number of themes you could pick to plan a party. I am going to plan one for you with the theme of the color yellow in a backyard setting for a casual get together with friends.

These would be my centerpieces

A few of the yellow details you would find at my party.

Baby food jars with a tea light inside for a mini lantern
A fabric banner

A yellow tub to hold drinks

Speaking of drinks, I would have to serve lemonade at a yellow-themed party

And this very yummy sounding pineapple-lemonade punch

Which I would love to serve in these citrus-shaped lids on a mason jar

Corn would be a good side dish

And grilled pineapple

This would be a cute dessert table set-up with decorations

Or this one with the Chinese lanterns stocked up on top of each other

Just an idea for you all if I was having a yellow-themed casual backyard party with some good friends.

I used to work at a restaurant that served grilled pineapple. The stuff is to die for, and people at a party would love it.

Love the yellow!!! I've been dying to do a wine and cheese party like the above picture showing food/cheese pairings with different wine choices. Yellow is such a fun color, especially in the summer time. If only I lived closed so we could entertain each other :)

I love all your yellow ideas. I would love to host but it will have to be one day because my tiny apartment isn't large enough for guests OR kitchen storage for the nice serving/kitchen stuff/glass jars/ ect!

Yellow is one of my favorite colors. These themes are so fresh and simple. Perfect for summer.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Loving your posts on different inspirations. As for solving the issue of hubby wanting to wait and me wanting to know, I had to understand that I don't need to have full control of this. Everything will be beautiful. It's actually fun not knowing.

First of all: love all of the yellow! Such a fan. And I love that cheese spread with the chalkboard writing.

These are just darling ideas! I love party planning and hosting company (in fact we're having some friends for dinner tonight!) In the summer months we host Saturday brunches at our place, and I adore hosting and decorating for them :-) So fun to stumble upon your blog and this post. I enjoyed it so much! Nice to "meet" you!

I love the chalkboard that tells what everything is and what it should be paired with, and I also really adore the purple. My wedding is eggplant, and I can't wait to see it all together!
