How do you like to top your tacos? Do you like them with cheese? Sour cream? Guacamole? Pico de gallo? Tapatio or another hot sauce? I love to put sour cream for sure on my tacos and guacamole. Heck I could make a meal out of guacamole and chips. I saw a recipe on Pinterest that peaked my interest - avocado cream sauce that doesn't have any dairy in it at all. Would this avocado cream sauce replace my much loved guacamole? There was only one way to find out, make the sauce!
Sean is very much a sauce guy, he is always asking for some sort of sauce whether it is for his beloved Chick Fil-a sandwich (2 packets of Chick Fil-a sauce, 1 honey mustard, 1 ranch, yes I know and remember this), or when we are having an Asian dish for dinner he needs soy sauce on top. He is always asking for sauce so I made it partially for myself to try out a new recipe and for him because he always need a sauce on top of his tacos.
To make the sauce you need: 1/2 ripe avocado, 3/4 cup cilantro leaves (just leaves, no stalk), juice of 1 lime, 1 clove garlic, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon honey, 1/8 teaspoon salt.
You make the sauce in your food process or blender, how nice and easy is that!
In your food process add all the ingredients and blend.
If the sauce is a little thick, add some water to thin it out a bit. You make sauce this sauce before you serve it or ahead of time, which I usually do.
I have made this sauce twice, once for black bean tacos and for Monday night's dinner on chicken tacos. We drizzled the sauce over our tacos and enjoy!! The second time I made this sauce I didn't have any limes or lemons so I used my lemon essential oil and it added the perfect amount of citrusy freshness.
It was a very simple and easy recipe to make that produced yummy results!

It sounds delicious! And your husband sounds like mine. He is always topping whatever we eat with some sort of sauce! He really likes the honey mustard sauce from Chick Fil A. ;)
