I'm back with some more December sponsors and lovely ladies you definitely should meet!
The fifth December sponsor is Kirsten of the Foreign Domestic.
My name is Kirsten, also known as The Foreign Domestic. I met my husband in college and the Army took us to different places when we graduated. We got married this past January, and four months later (after five years of service) I resigned from the Army. We're at our current duty station for only a few more months, so I decided to do some freelance writing/reporting in the midterm. When I'm not doing that, I'm cultivating my skills as housewife and sharing all of my adventures and sometimes misadventures at The Foreign Domestic. I'm not sure if I'll ever get this opportunity again, so I'm really enjoying it. I should also share that my husband and I l-o-v-e to travel and I enjoy sharing/recommending different places we visit.
We have some pretty fun traditions in my family, but I must say that my favorite holiday tradition is my family’s Christmas Eve Secret Santa Pajama Exchange. Let’s just say the first year we did it, I ended up receiving and wearing a big fuzzy adult onesie (gotta love sisters)! Ever since then, at least one person (sometimes two) in the family ends up getting and wearing onesie.
The sixth sponsor is Sarah of A Total Basset Case.
Hola henning love readers!
I am Sarah from Total Basset Case! Over at my blog I write about our loveable, yet goofy, basset hound named Floyd, recipes, my DIY adventures and life with the Mister! We would love to have you come by our neck of the woods and say hello!
My favorite holiday tradition is snuggling on the couch, watching a holiday movie: either The Holiday or Love Actually with only the Christmas tree lights on. OR driving around looking at Christmas lights.
The seventh sponsor for December is Sarah of Simply Sarah
Hello lovely bloggers! I'm Sarah and I blog over at simply sarah. I'm a twenty-something southern/blonde hair/blue-eyed/italian girl who loves to shop, cook, travel, Eli Manning, the Colts, anything that's pink, football, and my little man Toby :) Phew, that was a mouth-full! Despite my love/obsession with sports, I never played any. I started blogging to keep a record of my experiences during a long distance relationship and I'm so glad I kept it up. I've met so many amazing girls in the process and have made some real life friends. Head on over and let's start chatting! :)
Ok...favorite holiday tradition. Well, since my last name means Christmas in Italian, {fun little fact}, my family has lots of traditions. Every year since I can remember, all of us kids would get to go pick out a new ornament for the tree. My mom would put our names and the year on the back so now, more than 10 years later, we can look back and see when we got each ornament. I'm definitely doing this with my kids! Another favorite tradition is our Secret Santa swap. We started this one a few years ago when money started to get a little tight and have continued this tradition ever since. We each draw names and have to go out and find a gift for our person within the limit. What makes it so fun is that we all start guessing who has who and before we open our gift we have to guess who we thought everyone had. It's also really fun to see how you can get the most for the money. This is something we look forward to every year.
Last but definitely not least we have Jenn of From Bean to Bliss sharing a holiday tradition with you.
Hi! I'm Jenn from over at Bliss to Bean.
I absolutely adore Christmas.
I have quite a few traditions that are near and dear to my heart.
I think it's so awesome after you get married,
you get to combine traditions from both of your pasts to create your own.
One tradition that my family {from my dad's side} that we still do,
is purchasing & lighting a Bayberry Candle.
My grandma would always try to make sure that we had one, each Christmas.
Now that I just did some research on the legend of the candle, I wonder if it's because my ancestors came over on The Mayflower, and that's where this comes from?
I wish I could ask my gramps...miss you up there in heaven!
Anywho, the deal is, you buy a Bayberry Candle and light it on Christmas Eve.
If you forget, you can do it on NYE too, but I like it on Christmas Eve.
I suggest putting the candle in the sink to be safe.
Recite the poem:
This bayberry candle comes
from a friend
so on Christmas eve burn it down to the end.
For a bayberry candle burned to the socket,
will bring joy to the heart and gold to the pocket.
Thanks for this tradition grams...
We will be thinking of you when we light it this year!
So get your candle and let your happiness & wealth grow all year through.
Merry Christmas!!
Please visit my lovely sponsors if you haven't yet and tell them hello! Have a great Monday all
